I suppose I should say hello! I'm Jenn, I'm 22 and although I'm not going to art school, I intend to plug away at it until I create things I can admire for myself. I have a lot of ideas about things - for example, for every book I read I want to start illustrating at least one scene that really grabs me, or maybe try designing book covers, just for shits and giggles and to say I can. Unfortunately, I'm not even close to the point where the images in my head match the ones I put down on paper, and that's where CA.org comes in.

Intrinsic motivation is sometimes hard to come by, so I decided to start posting here so that I'll feel guilty if I don't practice every day. I'm very encouraged by criticism, obviously so long as it's constructive. Judging from the quality of the posting I've seen, that doesn't seem to be something I have to worry about. Once I get more comfortable in my abilities I certainly intend to be as helpful to others as I can be.

I've been lurking here a while and just signed up. Wanted to say that I totally get the need to illustrate things from whatever I'm reading (although it rarely turns out right) :/

I need to learn diligence and (ugh) new painting techniques. Hopefully the boards here can help.
