Might be a kidney stone, though not common in people under 40.

Aches and pains are one thing. It's another to admit to screaming from it.

Yeah I've been googling around. There's a few things I guess it could be, one of them being a kidney stone.

Yep, Psychotime, it's just been there for a couple hours at the most. As long as I don't move, cough or inhale deeply I'm good.

    That still sounds pretty bad.

EDIT: I'm considering starting up a tumblr, but I keep forgetting what the point of having one is. I don't use this kind of stuff unless I have to.

Plus, some weirdo already took the domain Psychotime.

If no one's tried using Manga Studio before, you should know about this feature. It's actually better than I thought it was.

This is pretty damn cool. We're such a fortunate generation, aren't we? Imagine Brunelleschi seeing this thing.

Psychotime-That tool looks so useful it pisses me off. Just makes me think about all of the hair I've pulled out trying to draw arbitrary shit like bricks and parking lots. My new tablet is gonna be in on Wednesday and Manga studio is going to be a part of my software trial bonanza.

Here in the U.S., it's not unusual for people who have the skills, the attitude and the equipment to fight the police on a one-to-one basis to suddenly find themselves in a burning building:

Found these in my residence hall beside the garbage. Stems hadn't even been cut yet. They're now brightening up my room

I really like the contrast between the pop can and the flowers. It's so much more vibrant in real life.

Huh. Wake up this morning with an odd aching on the left side of my back, and it feels like it's on the ribcage.

Dammit, I'm still young! What the hell is wrong...oh right, that shitty old spring mattress I sleep on.

Anyone ever do any nude modelling for a class? I modelled once, but that was in my briefs. We could either pay for an anatomy course or model for it. Easy choice. What are your experiences?

I've been so thinking of getting into that on and off for a while. Most models I've drawn do pretty boring poses. I just remember one guy who's a real martial arts geek who does kung fu poses, sometimes with props. It's a great change of pace from the usual bland "artsy" poses. They're still fun to draw, but mixing stuff up is the best.

The one part that sucks about my idea is that in the end I'd never get to DRAW whatever goofy poses I'd make. ...Ooh, I know I'd never be able to to more than 1 minute poses.

I just know I'll start shaving my legs before I ever begin doing that.

I have respect for professional models, but it's awkward when it's somebody you know personally. It breaks the fourth wall. If that makes any sense.

That's kinda what sparked my question. In gesture drawing class today, a class mate suddenly steps into the room half-naked. I shudder at the thought of the awkwardness to come, but fortunately he keeps his trousers on. I never thought I'd say this about the guy, but I wish he took them off. Really hard to read forms in tight black bicycle shorts. His gestures weren't too bad though, despite the fact that the guy couldn't draw a figure to save his life (I go to an architecture and design school, not an art school).

But yeah, that one time I was modelling myself, it was a two-hour pose, with one five minute break. You'd think sitting on a chair would be relaxing.

What? I already shave my face, chest, and armpits regularly. Only haven't done my legs because I'm so lazy.

    ( Click to show/hide )
    I shave my pubes, too.

I'm not even particularly hairy. I just dislike body hair on myself.

Ooh, speaking of body hair, ever see a person with hairy shoulders? It's...fascinating, I have to say. I didn't even know that was possible.

You should download Freddie Williams' perspective path tool for Photoshop. It'll save you a lot of time converting a sketch to something more refined, but you'll still have to do a bit of grunt work yourself.

Ok, finally broke down and made myself a tumblr! Still no clue what the hell to use it for, but whatever. I'll probably just repost stuff on it.

Anyone know some blogs worth following? I only follow one person at the moment.

You hip people all have to know some great stuff to look at.

Anything I should know about as I use this thing?

Tumblr Is good as long as you don´t let it get derailed, the best are blogs that keep consistent in their themes, make little to none personal post (making answers to ramdom questions, reblogging debates, ranting, etc) and that don´t spam with the queue all day.

I may be wrong but i realized that the dash doesn´t show all the people you follow after a while, it kind of chooses which post to highlight for you so people who are too active clog your dash most of the time.

Theartofanimation is probably the best example i can remember right now, pretty consistent art blog.

It's so hard to relate to people who love looking at drawings but are scared of doing the act of drawing.

Non-drawing anime fanboys are the most particular ones that can feel like beings from a different planet. "Oh man, I love anime like X and Y. I love over-the-top power fantasies and stuff! I love it so much that I write up my own stories with my own characters! My computer is chock full of anime artwork I find from all over! Can't get enough of it!"

So why don't you draw your own stuff if you really like it so much? You never get a clear answer for that. They CLEARLY love drawing, they're the prime people that take that first step, and yet they're scared of doing it? It's so infuriating to me. I just cannot understand it. The person I'm talking about isn't some casual viewer, he's a serious fanboy who really latched onto an aspect that really appeals to him. HOW THE HELL IS HE SCARED OF LEARNING TO DRAW?

You love this shit. You try to write up your own. You CLEARLY have ideas in your head you want to put on paper. You CLEARLY have images in your mind when you make up your characters. WHY DON'T YOU DRAW WHAT YOU WANT TO FREAKIN' DRAW?

No matter how much I try to dispel the garbage about drawing being some magical skill, nothing works! It was difficult using myself as an example to kick him into gear (I wasn't a late starter) so if anything I showed him Mindcandyman of all things! His answer? "I don't have five years." That's just...holy shit! Have you ever met someone this pathetic? That's the only word I have for people like that.

The droves of anime fans who get really obsessed with the stuff and develop bad drawing habits from poor learning may be a bad thing in one sense, but at least I can UNDERSTAND them. They don't feel like aliens to me.

It's probably for the same reason a lot of rabid sports fans don't physically play sports. It's a fun thing to admire, but participating is a whole 'nother monster. What if you're not very good and people tell you to go away? What if it ruins the sport for you because you all the flaws in the rules/politics/whatever are directly affecting you? What if what if what if. Then again, maybe it's none of that and they're just not interested in picking up the hobby.

This is a person who wishes to draw and is perfectly content with wishing instead of actually working for what they want. And that infuriates me.

I wish I could play music or build my own house, yet I can't even play guitar hero and I still have to chant "lefty loosey righty tighty" when I change a lightbulb.
