Saw Wreck-It Ralph tonight. The short might be my new favourite Pixar short solely because of the style. It had really smooth animation but maintained this beautiful subtle pencil/charcoal-ish look.

Never saw the short, but the tech Disney/Pixar developed to pull it off is very impressive. I remember hearing that Tangled was intended to use this tech, but it hadn't been perfected at the time.

Wow, that is really neat. I can't believe there's still people out there who will look at that and say "Yeah but the computer did it all so it sucks. We need to bring back hand-drawn animation!"

now after i stared at these drawings for more than half an hour or maybe even an hour....i just have to put it somewhere. sofar i did know petar meseldzija for his illustration and paintings and i have to admit didn't even knew that he was doing inks and/or comic stuff. but now that i saw these i have to get some of his work.

...these just blew my mind. soo soo good. now i go and grab my anatomy book and do some studies in the middle of the night. really if i somehow manage to do one drawing/ink like this in my entire life, my life is going to be complete.

he did upload more on muddy colors. go check it out. really worth it

I walked round and round and round and round to find a decent subject for plein air watercolor. Then I settled on some window facade with neoclassical architecture. I took out my materials and started drawing slowly, trying to get down the architectural accuracy. Then a police car pulled up beside me.

A police car? Am I doing something wrong? Am I loitering around a no loitering sign? I looked up and there was a sign that said "NO STANDING ANYTIME", but as luck would have it, I was sitting. Did someone not like me loitering around their front steps and called the police? I glanced into the car window to see the female officer talking on the phone. Why is she talking on the phone, is she asking for advice if it is legal to arrest me? Quite frankly I felt a tad bit nervous.

Then the police car drove away. I was relieved. But then few minutes later, "EEEEEYOOOOOOEEEYOOOOOEEEEEYOOOOOOEEEEYOOOO!". "Holy shit!" I thought(well, maybe not, but close enough). Two fire engines came roaring down the street in front of me and blocked my subject completely. "Ain't that a bitch", I thought(well maybe not, again, but close enough). I finished and packed up. There was a fire in the building behind me. I could smell the smoke when the firemen opened the door, even though the fire was on top most floor.

Plein air gets pretty hardcore in New York City.

Hey, try doing it in Caracas. We have lovely murder/ kidnappings/ general crime rates. Maybe afterwards New York wouldn´t feel like such a shitty place to be after all

Have anyone played the PC port of Dark Souls yet?

I tried it today, and its fucking horrendous, so far feels pretty frustating doing anything in this game. I´m trying to get more into it because i know getting past the difficulty is part of the experience and all so i won´t make up my mind just yet.

I used to like Daylights Savings time, back when it used to coincide with the week of my birthday. All right! An extra hour of sleep!

But now they changed it to the following week, I've finally noticed that it's a real nuisance.

We really should get rid of it.

I work at an art gallery on weekends with only one other coworker in the entire building. One of the girls who usually works weekdays took an extra shift with me for the abnormally slow Sunday. After complaining all day about being bored and wanting to leave, at four o'clock she comes up to me and says "You know what? We can actually close an hour early!"
    "Uh, no. Why?"
"Because the computers haven't been changed for Daylights Savings, so the bosses won't know we put the alarm in early!"
"All computers change automatically for Daylights Savings, and also everyone who comes to the gallery an hour before we close will complain that it wasn't open."
    "Oh, right."

And then I quietly sobbed, wishing for my regular less-idiotic coworker.

It really seems like Day Light Savings Time should be an actual holiday by now:

day off, some sort of special dinner, lots of drinking, and presents--yeah presents!

Perhaps decorations honoring a mythical character, maybe some unique music. . .

The daylight savings time just doesn't make sense anymore. I guess it did back when a lot of the people worked outside, but now it's just ugh. You wake up in darkness, go spend your day indoors working and when you get off it's dark again. It get's dark early enough as it is in the winter and with the different time it gets dark an hour earlier. The only time of the day when I might have time to enjoy the light.

Black Raspberry. You can't get any better.

I think part of why I like it so much is because I only eat it maybe once every year or so. It's a pain to find it outside of New England.

I was drinking my coffee and watching the chickens run around their pen in the allotments outside when a pigeon flew into the show really low and a brown bird slammed into it, exploded it and flew off with it all in the course of about 2 seconds. I just sat there not even understanding what happened. The feathers drifting to the floor.

My creativity comes at night it's been conditioned into me. But recently it's just been cold and makes me want to curl up in a blanket rather than draw.

On another note I was looking for something to draw when I was clicking around Tokyo in Google Street View since I was looking for city scenes to doodle. When suddenly it takes me inside a building. I'm sitting there flipping out..... I've said it and I'll say it again. Google Streetviews tech is almost scary. I can't comprehend how it's even possible.

Out of suggestion of my coworker I did cat ears to my earphones and then later added paws and a tail too. My only regret is forgetting the pink insides to the ears.

Ever redrew and shifted something and switched between the two pictures and it actually is almost animated?

Randomly redrew a bit of a picture and realized going back and forth to see the differences that the butt was wagging back and forth to the 80's music.

I installed LeechBlock on Firefox and configured it so I can only spend one cumulative hour per half day on facebook, youtube, conceptart, tvtropes, etc. in the hopes that I'll stop wasting so much time doing absolutely nothing. This is going to result in either more work getting done or more creative ways of doing nothing.

I take it back, Dark Souls is way better a second glance, and its not actually that hard once you get a hold of the control and know where you are supposed to go, but then again i am not that far into the game so i don´t know yet. I like having to be on my toes, because one second you think you have this suckers on the palm of your hand but one dumb move and your going to get creamed in 3 seconds by the same lame enemies you thought could beat with your eyes closed.

Is very rewarding so, the internet was right. The game is worth it.
