Thanks man! I don't feel so bad about it, though. She's had a good life and I wouldn't want to see her suffer.

I had to make that decision last August with my cat, she was 17. I find myself spontanously crying sometimes if something reminds me of her, but then I remember the first night I got her as a kitten and she slept on my neck all night and from then on I was her Mum and that's pretty priceless. Anyway good luck and *hug*

    Oddly, my surname is Oliver.
That's kinda like Kevin Bacon suddenly discovering the joys of Bacon.

    Weird old world.
You might like the garlic variety as well. I love them, and I may have to get some more this weekend. They have a piece of strong garlic in the center instead of pimento.

I can never eat olives plain, but my wife puts them in pasta and then I can't get enough of them. Go figure, they definitely add to the flavor.

Same with avocado. On it's own I hate it, but mix it with some feta and bacon....

That sounds nice, I'll have to try that. Only ever had avocado in a salad and it was nice but I thought it was mouldy egg at first, definitely an acquired taste.

Haha That combo is normally found as an in season pizza topping here. My mom also used to buy me avo and bacon sandwiches which I loved. Something about that flavor combo that works so well.

Got a great haul of stuff this week in the post, this amazing book:

Which is everything you need to know about making your own action figures and statuettes, which is something I want to get into.

    Aaand

The 1991 Dungeons and Dragons board game, with that stunning cover by Jeff Easley packed in as a fold out poster!

    Been a total geek week.

Oh and its off to the oncologist tomorrow!

Badass! I used to love flicking through my friend's D+D manuals for the art.
I got pop sculpture last Christmas and it really is an awesome book. I got a bag of Revoltech joints ready to use for whenever I decide to make a figure some time.

The TSR art from the early 90s (before the change to Wizards of the Coast) is still my favorite. But I do appreciate the abundance of full colour pics in the new material.

Pop Sculpture is -amazing- isn't it? I knew I had made the right choice when I opened it up to find my favourite version of Killer Kroc on the inside. It just makes you want to start making your own toys right away. Got big plans for that book.

Hows the rest of your day gone?

If you guys are interested in D&D art, and especially the rare, oddball stuff, the WTF D&D column of Something Awful is pretty hilarious.

As expected, fortunately. It sounds bad to say that, but the vet said her swollen abdomen was due to liver failure which would mean she'd have more fits. I'm just glad she didn't suffer.

As for the book - really is amazing! As soon as I read it I started jotting down ideas for what I could make. At first it was overly ambitious stuff like "I'm gonna make the craziest monster from Hellboy!" then realised I've never sculpted before.
I still want to create an already established character since there'd be available reference and it'd be good practice to get a good likeness. Something on the geometrically simpler side of things, though. Like one of Osamu Tezuka's characters...

Yeah, two of my wifes cats went in the same way, it seems to be common with older kitties. Glad you are able to focus on the positive side!

Yep, the book is incredibly inspiring, I put it down to the layman way that it is written. The text is really informative, but comes across in such an easy going funny way. You -do- feel that you can make anything while you are reading it. My goal, apart from making some monster figures at a larger size, is making war gaming and rpg miniatures. Hope you get to sculpting soon.

Just got back from urologist again, now its off to the oncologist soon, I'll update in the usual thread what the word is. I did get my bandage taken off today which feels much better.

I know, I should not talk to spambots, but it just seemed like too much of a wasted opportunity not to!

All went well today, just exhausting.

This forum is so much larger than the ones I'm accustomed to. I finally figured out what it feels like to me: it's like when I was 17 and I wanted to get in shape really quickly- so I would go to the weight room and load up WAY too many stacks on the universal machine until I could barely lift the weight; let alone get a productive workout out of it.

Doesn't necessarily solve anything to acknowledge that, but I guess I'm just dealing with it.

My right lung collapsed today, and it hurts to take deep breaths. This is because I am too skinny. I don't have a lot of time to eat these days...

I got three pet birds today at a bird faire, my first birds in a long while. It's not even been 24 hours and I love them feircely. They are two ring neck doves and one roller pigeon. They are very skittish but I am determined to get them more accustomed to being (gently) handled and fed.

    Vay.. dude.

There was a Chinese acupuncturist who told me to avoid certain foods many years ago. I didn't believe him. But now after getting better, I realized that I've been avoiding exactly all the foods that he told me to avoid.

    Quick photoshop-question:

I'm currently experimenting with the freeform pen tool. Only thing that annoys me is that every stroke creates a new layer. Is there any way to avoid this? Getting tired of merging layers.

    That's quite horrible.

The worst I have is some scar tissue from burning my left one; it involved inhaling a smoldering bit of weed from a glass pipe in a very unconscious manner. I still feel it to this day--13 or 14 years later.

From the amount of food talk on this topic, I`d definitely say there`s a lot of starving artists here.
