    Cyber Pharaoh

Hi everyone. I'm working on this character which I plan on modelling and texturing but i'm stuck on the design. It's meant to be an immortal software billionare who lost his soul to technology and haunts the internet, his skin is kept alive but due to the unatural state of his body it grows irregularly. I wanted to try and incorperate some differen horror elements into the design like the creepy black things that absorb power and allow data to flow. My big goal is to trick the subconsious mind into thinking that it's seeing a cyborg when really it's seeing a clever remix of popular horror art, because the immediate reaction to the unknown is often fear.

But it's hard lol i need to keep in mind a healthy balance between a good knowledge of organic and machanic parts AND keep the silloet memorable.

I attatched 2 images, one was a head i made some alterations to in photoshop to try to understand my goal a little better, and the other is a sketch of the character.

Well, it's an interesting idea... but uh... is his face supposed to look like really old round phone dial? His hair looks kinda early 90's too but I'll leave that to taste. He just doesn't look very modern.

Also are you really sure you mean "skin"? Keeping skin alive is kinda useless if you're dead, and skin growing randomly doesn't make the body larger, it just makes droopy skin, which isn't really apparent in your design. Nor does it really create wooden/stone-like textures or spikes either I'd say.

And well, the design could do some work. It's not bad, per se, but to me it comes off more like a "toxic mummy mutant" due to the phone dial/gas mask filter mouth, different textures of his body and the kinda pasted on bandages. The idea is interesting, but it might help if you put more thought on what really happened and how it relates to the design. Like, he "lost his soul to technology" but how exactly did he end up looking like that? Did he start putting wires inside himself to be more like a machine, ended up dying and getting resurrected, did he become the embodiment of technology, did he die naturally and what was done to his body, and who put those bandages to his crotch and why?

Overall aside the face and those black decoration spikes in his upper back, his design/build isn't exactly memorable or unique and you could try to brush up the anatomy a bit. If he's supposed to have exposed muscles peeking under his skin, they need to look more like muscles.

Hello Tiny bird, thank you for the feedback.
The face mask was a result of me trying to incorperate the feel of facial feature distortion without actual distortion, so that the technology itself leant itself the the creepiness.. I guess it depends what you're background history is. But that's what frustrates me, the most obvious and most boring horror elements are the ones you have to make obvious it seems. As for the flesh, i found it interesting to imagine what the human body would do if some how it was force fed different chemicals that flowed through the body to preserve it and how it would probably be somewhat more crude than any natural or current methods. Those tree man pictures on the net make me cringe, which is what interested me but i agree, they don't really work. The reason i put them there was for the sake of texture and form. I guess the bandages are a bit much, again i was more after texture and form, and wasn't 100% what to do.
I diddn't bother with muscles because for the most part he's meant to look decayed, so he has synthetic arms and torso.

Overall it seems my design needs a fair amount more work, i'm just not entirely sure.. I don't have much time to become emersed in the cyberpunk genre any more than i already am, i have a lot of other things to complete.
