I made these illustrations over the last week.

Not a bad start for a sketchbook, i'd be interested in some pencil sketches personally, see what you have there. As for crits, the elf waitress is falling over to the left, you have to watch out for the balance line there.
Walnut: thanks for pointing out man! As for pencil sketches, I will notify you trough PM if you don't mind. I am more on a go these days with my tablet, however it's not forever.
A first approach on doing countourless painting and the ship is a study from reference and it's from the game Dodonpachi Daioujou.

Very nice work on the ship study, you seem to have nailed the perspective on that one. Interesting style that your going for with your other work, your lines are excellent. Though your more painterly pieces are looking a little flat in areas, perhaps more still lifes would help you in rendering forms better.
glaudarien: I agree with you on the flat looking parts. Doing still lifes studies is on my to do list of studies. Thank you for visiting and posting!
I picked my Pentel brush ink pen up and I made some loose drawings. I bought this week a new moleskine since my school has started that week. Let's see how much I can fill it up before Christmas!

Great linework, almost gives your characters a cartoon quality which is nice.
I'm not sure if it's just me but some elements of the compositions in your recent post seem to tilt left slightly (trees in the first image, edges of the window in the second) instead of being strictly vertical. Might be something to try and keep in mind when sketching. Looking forward to more work here though.![]()
Noun: I blame the sketchbook for that. Nah kidding! It's just that I always manage to tilt my sketchbook in a way that it's pleasent to draw at, without noticing for the skewed composition. Or I still suck at drawing straight lines, that's also a possibility.
Very study oriented post this time: Spiders, dragonflies and camp fire from photographs. Hands from classmates, since I'm still very poor at drawing them.

It's great to see you back here, and I look forward to more studies, finished work, etc.
Kudos for doing a piece on DoDonpachi!

FightingSeraph: Glad there is at least someone that knows those games and even the genre. The work I upload here has to wait, I'm afraid. Very busy with other art related stuff that I won't show here, this sketchbook is supposed for personal work.
Halloween illustration, inked with Pentel brush on A3 size paper. Wanted to keep a limited colour pallette and flat look.

Yay cartoons!
neat stuff so far, I really like the robust waitress in post 4.
Right now it seems like you're exploring the body really nicely, but your faces are very naturally proportioned. It could be that you have a bit of an anime influence?
Keep posting, looks like it's gonna be a fun SB![]()
Rhubix: Thanks for your comment, yeah I like her and her robust look as well.
I still keep underestimating faces, but I do try to make them look natural. Influence might indeed be a part of the problem.

Attended last Saturday the third Dr. Sketchy event in Amsterdam. It was pretty awesome and I even won an artbook with the last illustration: My own interpretation of the hairstyle from the model. Very excited!

Really like the brush ink pen loose drawings up thereIt'll be fantastic if you have an entire moleskin full of such! Keep it up

You're developing a pretty cool style. looking forward to seeing where it leads you.![]()
Thanks guys, Here is some more brush pen (and fineliner) in moleskine work from photo reference:

Been awhile I visited and updated my sketchbook here at Conceptart.org. Here is some recent work of mine. The last one is a piece from a comic I'm working on. The gate to hell is from Doom3 and not my own design.
