exams being tough not much done lately, just a late night scribble

then finished of this weeks IDW challenge, the description:

    Orbital Refinery

Using catcher arms to get captured into the gravitational pull of smaller planets
the orbital refinery then extracts all usable reasources from the target moon or planet,
disintegrating all unusable materials via the on board furnace, as well as fuelling itself.
The single 360 degree engine provides adjustments to counter act other gravitational forces
as well as larger centripetal forces that maybe affecting the refinery.
Once its silos are filled to capacity it would procceed back to base.
A large assortment of antennes and communications array allows remote control
throught the vastness of space also making the orbital refinery 100% unmaned!

Your colours are all over the place, they're muddy and blend into each other and are often too saturated. I think it'd help you to do some colour studies, like from photos or something from life, to give you a better sense of how colour works.

Your figure studies are coming out quite well. Hope to see more from you soon!

Umbravita: your right, there are some many things i still need to work at, thanks for the critique.

speedy landscape study before i head of to work,
no adjustment layers just a lot of random brushes for
    the complex textures;

Can be felt that you ignited two more turbines. You were
working on lower power before, but now you have boosted
things up. Both traditionally and digitally. Your first appearance
was really questionable, and the hot heads out there were betting
against you, but I felt it I knew it that you will be a hard worker
and a true warrior, and you can see now that it’s all paying off.
If the old master artist gang would be still alive today, they would print
a diploma and a certificate of courage and perseverance, which would
be handed to you personally, eventually. Each day you are improving,
needless to say that your quality and standard is way beyond some limits
already. You are mastering the heads and shapes like a boss. That was
a really cool and good move to train from life, getting yourself a golf
ball and that other blue one, plus you have an adorable collection
of pens and pencils. Sensing the true art spirit all around the ventilation
and through the air. Train ride sketches are a positive strategy, it will
catapult you to another level very soon, if it didn't already.
I honestly do not have any advice for now, except for
to do more what you did till now, and try to live
    by these wise words;
Draw like a wind and live like a beast

    Hey Adrian,

Good studies and designs here, and lots of hard work.

    Couple suggestions:

    A. Try to follow this order of working on a figure or portrait (whatever):

    1. Get the gesture down. Everything should follow this and be built upon it like
    a road map.

    2. Get the proportions right, taking into account foreshortening. Try to use bony
landmarks for this, especially the joints.

    3. Sketch in the forms of the figure or head as a few large simple volumes
such as cylinders. Again use the bony landmarks and the basic symmetry of the
body to help you see the dimensionality of the forms.

Details like anatomy and rendering and even the outlines should be added to the
drawing only after these steps. Eventually you will be able to see in your mind all
these elements or even feel them instinctively, but until then working step-by-step
    should really help.

    B. Take your time and really concentrate on each line or mark you make. If you
aren't sure what you are doing with a mark, take a step back and try to get the
feeling of the actions and forms and purpose of what you are doing.

Keep up the good pace, you're doing great!
sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment

the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”

Loving the fluidity and control of your lines! I really think that it's just a matter of time for you to get wherever you want to be! You have all the ingredients to succeed. Just keep working and loving what you do, cause in the end it's all about that. Good job!

Hey man thanks for the suggestion for the EOW, I was mulling over what the tag team idea needed so nobody would get left out and I agree. What do you think of another tag team special in the very near future with pre-sign ups? One problem with this is that while some people reserve their spots, they might forget about it or prefer a tag team partner who has certain access to programs that they have, i.e. Skype or other programs that support art collaborations.

The pros do outweigh the cons and it should work more dependably.

Thanks again & nice updates! You guys are a good team.

Okay man, fixed the colors abit, you gotta think about what color water is in the environ you're drawing. Look at refs if you get stuck. You should practice using hardround brushes on a single layer only sometimes just because it will help alot.

Anyway here's where we are at.
