Okay, got 400 of these lovely orange sheets... Think I gonna practice them to zero. All I do right now are basics. I wake up, sketch an A4 page full with lines, then with boxes, then go to the bathroom. Gettin some coffee and do a page full of cubes and after that 1-3 pages of random stuff i like. the same ritual after noon and then the same before sleep. In between I read and watch, learn all sh*t I can get to...

AAAAND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING RIGHT NOW: I FOUND OUT THE AWESOMENESS OF THE WHITE PENCIL!

However, hope all of you are alrigt and in good mood

Whoooyeah! Five days over, thousands to go! ..... ._.
Hitsu.... I hate you... I hate lines... I hate curves... I hate cubes... I mean the task is made out of frustration and I already have dozens of paper sheets filled with these...

    thanks

I mean it! I can see the difference, looked the first page up today and compared it to the last I did some hours ago and the difference is immense... and motivating! Yes, I hate these exercises now and repeating them again and again can and is very boring and frustrating if not even enraging. I felt like destroying the table at some times... but then I sat down and did another page before moving to drawing the things I like. As I still had time to draw more I looked up some other tasks in internet and raged with them, too.

    Okay, see you guys!

hey! nice detail on the armour in 047! nice studies so far, what kind of pencil are you using? I ask because your lines seem quite light, but then it may be your scanner. But if you're using a HB or lighter try a 2B or 4B if you haven't already.

Also, if you want to practice human anatomy try reading some of Loomis' books they're free to download off the net and they're very good! I haven't seen any colour since the first page, throw some of that back in too!

Thanks for the tip, I will definitelly look these books up As for the pencil so yeah, I used here HB. My fav pencils are the B2s but all I had are dead and not longer than 2-4cm^^' But I need to work on shadows so I will need new pencils, means no problem here. As for anatomy thank you for the tip again^^ btw you should look "атлас анатомии человека для художников кузнецов а.ю." up, it's pretty cool, too Color... yeah, I'll come back to that one xD

New digital work. Looking through the brushes to find one I like to sketch with the most No fancy forms etc, just playing with options.

OKay, I've been practicing more on the basic stuff. Don't gonna say that it's best of fun but it helps and I actually get new ideas how to use the new learned knowledge! Well, I think that THAT is cool, getting new ideas by learning new stuff, makes the learning process actually much more interessting and fun^^
This time some sketches and studies. All done on this lovelly orange sheets because I somehow have to get rid of them so why not by practice?
Of course are any comments and critiques most appreciated!

Hey, thanks for stopping by my SB. I like seeing the perspective studies you've gotten mixed into here. I'd be interested in knowing what books or videos you've looked at for accurate construction in perspective, because it's important to understand these things solidly before you try to sketch loosely with them. It's like jumping straight to riding a bike without the training wheels before you've had the chance to get a feel for how to ride with them on first - you'll only fall flat on your face. And I don't want to see that. What I'd suggest is sitting down with a good perspective book, busting out a ruler ( I'm big on being able to freehand perspective lines and use that for most of my perspective work, but when I'm trying to learn HOW to do something, I take away some frustration and focus only on learning that concept first) and figure out the concepts by drawing them out. Just looking at them being drawn by someone else isn't going to cut it. It's a muscle memory/brain thing that I can't explain but it only works by putting in the mileage. So put back on the training wheels for a bit, slow down, and really focus on this one step at a time.

Hey all! I got a new monitor AND a comfy chair so I am back to do more art
The last weeks were pretty hard as I had to find a new job and also had some private problems... however now it is all clear I can now concentrate on learning art!

I have to admit that I used sketching and drawing as some kind of escape in the last weeks and I also read alot in my freetime. Both were awesome experiences as you can just clear your mind and do what you like.
From now I really try to do daily updates on my sketchbook so stay tuned!

Ah almost forgot to add a picture

I've gone over one of my older works with which I was okay with back then...
    That's the old piece:

Your lines are definitely improving, as is shown with that last sketch, but your straight lines still have a slight curve to them when you freehand. Really focus and getting those lines as solidly straight as possible and it will greatly improve the quality of your sketches as well as how quickly you can bust them out.
