Here are my first try at photoshop style of painting.
First is a photo study, second is a Venom fanart portrait (kinda). Venom piece is a WIP, I doubt I'll finish it though.
ANY crits are highly welcomed![]()

Hey there! You're off to a great start, Stepan! I'm especially loving this photo study. The eyes really draw the viewer in; you've captured them quite well.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to see what else you've got to show.![]()
Hey, the nothing that you are is really something. More? Oh yes.
No digital stuff right now, these are some sketches from posemaniacs I did today.
The grid says to me that my measuring skills are low. I tend to shorten hands and feet nearly in every drawing...
great start, especially the first portrait ;>
@ Freeminds: Thanks, that portrait was fun to do, learned a lot during the process![]()
Some new stuff from several past days.
1st is a landascape piece ripoff of some World of Warcraft piece I find using Google(http://wallpampers.ru/pictures/267/1...ghtelf1600.jpg). I liked the atmosphere and the colors and tried to copy it as much as I can (of course I failed at it almost, haha)
2nd is some posemaniacs studies. Btw, someone can tell me a good source to study poses with muscles, cause posemaniacs don't show how muscles work pretty much. Ok, correct me If i'm wrong and I should study poses and muscules separatelly. Then I'll just proceed with posemaniacs
finally, some stuff from the head. It's a dinosaur Oo. Hope more of my personall stuff will be coming along soon.
Any comments and crits are only highly welcomed. Thanks for checking my scetchbook, friends.
My 2nd photo study. First did a line drawing, scaned and painted in photoshop. Still with a mouse. I actually enjoyed it more than I expected.
About the process: I scaled up the head on a line drawing a bit since it was too small compared to the reference. I didn't use color picker (used it a couple of times) intending to learn as much about colors as posssible from this. In the end the colors came out a bit different (given that was only my 2nd attemt at drawing from a photo ref I thought it was quite decent)
Found this forgotten one on my computer today. Super greasy lines on this (I done it on my classes mostly when I was bored.Pretty old now though
Photo study from past days. About 3,5 hours. With a mouse. Using a hard round, with opacity set to 50.
God I wish I could draw but no free time in a weeks. 3-4 weeks old.
Well, I'm actually gonna continue studying my colors and values from photos.
Here's a fresh one. Some colors are matching to original, too many don't. I'm not surprised cause 'm color blind. Well, I'm gonna work on it.
Afford myself an hour of personal stuff this night. Been doin that for loooong.

I'm kinda unhappy with how it's coming out. I know there's a lot wrong, but cant see what exactly. Any crits will be usefull guys. Be brutally honest, im total shit and i know that
Here's my swordguy! Fucked with color overlay in the end and did some adjustment layers.
If you can do that with a mouse, then I can't wait to see what you will do with a tablet!
Ask for one for Christmas, or...steal one! Hehe![]()
Thanks ) I gotta think about stealing...
An hour long study from today. Pretty much got all the values right (well, kinda) but the colors bombed (which is no surprise i'm color blind). But yeah.
Started my 100 hands
Nice stuff man. Your drawings aren't to bad but you'll want to start drawing looser and more fluid. If your drawing with your wrist, stop now and start drawing with your arm. You'll be a helluva lot less restricted.
Draw with lines of action. This will help to make your drawings have more flow.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmiwGm32dXU
Also download or buy force dynamics. It'll help a lot. Figure/life drawing is one of the most important things to do while getting better because it makes you learn everything. Lighting, shape, anatomy, construction etc etc. 3 hours a day minimum is what I'd recommend. If you have lots of paper, use it. If not you can draw in photoshop. It won't look nearly as good if your not used to it but what I've found out is that doing life drawing on a tablet makes you much more proficent in photoshop especially if your doing 30sec to 1min poses. It forces you to draw faster and more accurately.
Hope this helps! Keep up the work!
Super usefull links and advices! I apperciate your feedback very much, thank you!
Interesting tips on drawing, gonna try that!
Nice work! I'd brush up some more on the anatomy. The muscles on the bane and the structure are kinda off.
Keep up the ass burning!
Thank you! Will keep trying my best with the next ones.
