It's nice overall, but the way you've handled the edges on the figure it feels a little like a cut our paper doll. I'd recommend revising the edge work.

I agree about the edges. Also, the shadows right were feet meet floor need to be darker.
Otherwise, very nice!

I agree. The edges are giving me a really odd feeling. I see the process, but the edges make me feel like it was cut out of another image.

The lighting isn't working that well either imo. The lighting direction is wrong and the colors and values don't look right.

Another nice rendering/trace painting, but again, the edges are very bothersome. It reminds me of those ol' glamour high school photos, where everything is ultra "glowy" and everything has smooth baby's ass edge to it.

im doing a study of this image - and i have to say that its definatly colour picked and traced. have a real go at this from scratch pal so we can see what level your at. cus you wont learn anything from this.

the problem here is that this looks exactly like what i suspect it is, a traced and colourpicked photo.

What you end up with is a bad copy and very little in terms of development of your own talents. Really, with all the best intentions in mind if you want to get better at drawing and painting digitally; Stop doing this.

I sure would like to see a step by step process of this work. Do you have any screen shots of it being made? Or maybe you have a sketchbook here? I am interested in how you work.

Overall the proportions and such are right on but the canvas look is detracting from the piece as there is no uniform canvas over the woman's face. As it is, it's coming off as a filtered photo because of the way the woman looks cut from the background. I am not saying that it is, just that it is coming off that way. Perhaps some bigger strokes and more artistry could make the piece look more interesting.

I really like it. I just have one question: Did you used photo reference?I mean you probably did and its ok, but what I would like to know is ,if its just a copy from a photo .

Her face, her hair, her headscarf, her shirt and the background are not playing nice with each other.

If this picture was working, I wouldn't care how you did it, but it's not working.

Based on what the thumbnail version looked like, I though I would like it better, so I'm sorry to say I was a little disappointed. Let's just say that I find the textures to be underwhelming, but at least I do appreciate that you put some time and work into it.

dude what are you trying to achieve here? your gaining nothing from this. do yourself a favour and start painting by observing. dont even have the photo open photoshop, have it open in another image window. so then you wont be tempted to trace and colour pick. inless you dont want to, then deviant art is more what your looking for.
