Spring- Thanks for stopping by, not sure what you mean by geometric.
Practicing some detailing. I find it very difficult to add to a piece's quality just in adding detail.

Speed paints during lecture
Last edited by jedininjaman; April 6th, 2012 at 08:07 PM.
Piece I did for work, less of a time sink then I imagined, I have a few more like it to share. Feeling better with detailing.
Quite a bit of time spent on getting the "little time spent" look. As usual, no ref
The regular lecture sketch.
Speed Paint ~45
That last ones really cool and I really want to see the one in post 93 finished, love the angle and design of it. Really cool sketchbook.
my sketchbook- http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...=235313&page=3
This sketchbook really resonates with me. It's the most inspired i've been from a sketchbook here.
Regarding rating:
Wow. To whoever rated me up, thank you very much. It has been a goal of mine since I joined the site nearly 5 years ago to hit 5 stars, and it was the only real reason I made a new sketchbook since I didn't believe I could pull my old one up. I am not convinced I am at that level yet, but this is a large encouragement.
Regarding Pencils:
They have been terrible as of late. I recently finished my latest moleskin and after looking through it I was hugely disappointed. I don't really know what's happened, but I am pretty determined to revert it. The past few days I have been going back through and erasing pages and redrawing them. I intend to continue doing this until I feel it is presentable. Also I can't afford another moleskin at the moment so this fixes two problems for the time being.
Regarding Photoshop:
Upon some excellent council I have received from you guys, I have really tried mixing up my process recently. It has been pretty fun and I look forward to seeing where it goes. I have been happy with most of my work but there have been more than a few that I have scrapped completely. I am going to keep trying new things until something catches me so completely I cant help but explore it further.
That is all.
will123will- Thanks man the vamp is way more cartoony than I usually go, but it was fast and a lot of fun. I'll honor your request and take a look at it.
Jarrad- Thanks man, but you're too kind. Any mix of DanielC, aplenfleger or, bumskee's sketchbooks will give you chills.
Nice stuff man, I really like the composition in #93, your moleskine pages are top notch as well, keep it up.
Per will123will's suggestion, I put some more work into the Siren piece. I intend to finish it asap.
A or B?

that mermaid concept is absolutely smashing!
heres some refs which might help, i know a lot of people here are so practiced that can conjour the lighting and stuff from scratch, which i find awe inspiring, but i have to go to references to get the look i need
to get that wibbly wobbly water surface effect theres a real good set of filters in photoshop called Distort that can do that for you; if you cut the bit you want to be above the water, squash it horizontally, perform the filter (youll need to try it a few times to tune the settings) then stretch it out again horizontally, that gives a nice look.. heres an old old sketch where i used it

slow
First digital still life, felt pretty weird. Spent maybe 45 min to an hour on it. Still trying new painting techniques to get faster.
Velocity Kendall- It's honor to have you post in here, I am a huge fan of your work. After messing around with the distortion filter, I am definitely going to use it. Your advice has been very helpful.
AdrianNagorski- Thanks for commenting, I'll keep working on that penmanship.

Really enjoying lookin through the recent stuff here, you're doing some really great stuff.
I think you could work a bit on proportions and structure in your pencil stuff, they seem a bit lacking in that department.
Keep it up!
Piemonster- Replied in your thread, thanks for the tip.
Real speedy painting. Trying new workflows. Pushing myself on efficiency. Thanks for looking.
i like your drawings man! there pretty awesome!
Follow this link is my sketchbook and i hope you can help me improve my drawings by critiquing me and giving me advice!( http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=1#post3423938 ).
oh in i would be really grateful if you have any info on Books/ Websites/ and DVDs that can improve my art.
I would like you to share with me some artist that you guys know so i can get some inspiration from them as well!
Just put the links when you reply me on my sketchbook!
some for the road, the mural-ish one is just a collection of paintings I combined into some sort of composition study.
Still trying to get faster.
Been working a bit on 3D stuff, Ill share soon.
D'artist-Thanks man, hope to see you get your sketchbook worked out.

Daayyuuum. Amazing work man, looks like you worked out a pretty unique way of working, feels fast and loose. Your colour palette is real good in a lot of these too.
Keep it up man.
love the four arm character and the lower portrait of the magic man
great man, cool sketchbook and cool amoutn of creativity - maybe use more ps filters though (haha, that being said until 4 weeks or somthing ago i applied chromatic abberation on every fucking image - gruesome)
you have some really nice pieces! keep up!

Still trying new techniques, this one was super quick and has better separation of forms than most of my quick ones. Will finish.
Also, I am thinking about starting to live stream? I doubt very many would like to watch me work but I do want to network with more artists. Any opinions on the matter would be appreciated.

Phat- Thanks man and that is great to hear, I have been pushing color so hard lately. I used to sit around in monochrome for everything.
asa- Thanks for your continual support asa
xbert- Thanks for stopping by xbert. My integration of filters is horrific, I have just been pushing efficiency lately and I feel like filters have potential I just need to be much more subtle. And honestly, I feel that most images are approved with at least some form of chromatic abberation. It just looks so dang cool.
Danka- Thanks
havent seen your work in a while and you've really improved, love the painterly speedies. let me know if you know of any good sketchgroups/life drawing sessions in nyc, been looking for something in that vein and would totally be down to chill.

You always have such interesting and amusing stuff here. Long may it continue.
That sketch compilation thing is wicked cool man, reminds me of some other artist I can't quite remember. Maybe Frank Stockton? Anyways, keep it up man, you're killing it!
Thanks for stopping by my SB!
you've got fantastic concepts here, i particularly like the SB work in #103.
I think the only crit i can offer is that a few of your faces seem to lean oddly. They can't be perfectly symmetrical obviously and its not really noticeable unless you're looking at images for awhile but maybe its something you could look into more? Hope it helps![]()
