i think that your value studies are coming along nicely, however your colour work seems to not have that same feeling of form (which is common as colour just servers to complicate things when your still learning a lot). so id say keep a black and white layer on top of your painting that you can turn on and off to check the forms.

if your not sure how to do that- make a new layer, then in the layers menu dropdown turn it to saturation. then with a fully black paint bucket drop that on the canvas (making sure its on the saturation layer) and it should turn b+w.

The figure studies are looking good! I'd recognize studies from Bridgeman anywhere, if only because I've been working with them recently. It's a great place to look for reference and inspiration.

Did another 2 hours on the Star Wars pieces, kinda happy with it, but at the same time. ARGGHHH.
Getting so frustrated with my total inability to paint. However, not giving up, I flat out refuse to be one of those people who falls by the wayside. Sticking with it!

Was only gonna do it for 2 hours, but kinda over estimated what I could get done lol. This shit's hard to paint.

Xerenity - cheers . Yeah, preferring pencils atm to be honest. But I've been using them way more than PS recently. Gonna switch it up and do loadsa digital in the new year I think.

Not to make excuses, but been crazy busy with graphics work at uni. Getting there though.
From now, I'mm going to be keeping a note of how long I'm drawing for, and working towards 10,000 hours. I know its kinda stupid. But thought it might be sweet to have some sort of goal, even if it is years and years in the future.

Man, I'm really digging your studies. Your definitely getting a grasp of the whole concepts in my eyes.. I would still love to see more of your imagination coming out. Try to push your inner mind and see where it takes you; I'm convinced you're more than ready for the challenge. Keep doing xerox-style studies, but start pushing your creative mind, too ( if you're not, already ).

Just gonna start with an illustration I finished (maybe) for uni recently











Then... Sketchbook work since my last post. All studies except the last one.











And as you may have guessed from that, I'm doing the Crimson Daggers bloodsports this time around. Overweight wizard. Here's what I've got so far. Might just do a straight character design and environment though, rather than posing it like any of these. I just have no idea what I'm doing, and I'd really like to finish this. We'll see.











Need to work so much more from my head. It's crazy frustrating how much worse I am with that. And then working digitally on top of it. More digital studies, and applying everything more often I think. Might start doing a page of work from my head for every page of studies.
