    Cool Tom3D's Sketchbook

    About time I updated this.
I'm a student with a keen interest in improving my art though i find my work on the course tends to get in the way. I complain allot as well as self loathe in this thread with little description
of what I have drawn. So come along and hopefully see some improvements!

    Thanks, Tom

    First Piece

Here's a paint I worked on today, decided to spend a bit longer this time round though got a bit lost in proportions and such later on in the paint.

This is a quick skull i began sculpting today in sculptris, plan to continue it tomorrow.

Its probably not worth saying "hey im back again" as i will probably end up not posting again. I feel like im making a bit more progress then last time, but the past few days have felt a bit more frustrating with my artwork.

The way i tend to enjoy painting is to draw out a silhouette and slowly bring out the figure from that, but i increasingly feel the need to begin my sketches linework, which at the moment is a bit sloppy.

Anyway here's a update in a sort of chronological order

I started this one out in all solid colors and then rendered using a soft brush.

I believe this was a painting by Picasso's mentor?,i tried to match the stroke style a bit.

This was just a quick sketch messing about with textures, i really want to aim towards a more stylized end game but at the moment i think i would benefit more from doing studies

This was a painting of a gymnast i really wasn't happy with the dodgy face

Mainly working with color in this piece and thinking about saturation a bit, yet again not to happy with the face

    quick sketch, lots of problems

This was planned to be a quick monochrome sketch, but i took the head a bit further

    Studygroup sketch focusing on colour

Tried to put a bit of extra effort into this one, could still use a bit more work

Thanks for looking, i hope im moving in the right direction.

Really unhappy with this one i didn't match the color values if the original figure well at all. I planed to continue it after a nights sleep but i didn't feel motivated after seeing how far off i was.

This is the last piece i did before i stopped, i didn't even finish :c

Randomly about half way through my hiatus i drew half of this

And now back in the game i did these, I'm really worried about fucking up again especially after i start work

Here's some church concepts i have been working on, I have never really touched perspective before let alone environments. They were all done in 3 point.

Pretty unhappy with this one, i don't usually do full poses especially that with allot of cloth, the brush strokes feel messy and rushed.
    Could of refined it further.

Been pretty stressed outside of art recently, I have still been working daily but i haven't been happy with much of my work. Anyway heres today's piece. I messed up the perspective on the head there's far too much showing on the left. Sure there's plenty of other problems too
