Design what Alice would look like if she returned to a warring wonderland.

DESCRIPTION
Pretty much everyone should know some version of the story of Alice in Wonderland; A young girl 'falls down a rabbit hole' and ends up in a fantasy world known as Wonderland. But what would happen if Alice returned to wonderland years later to find it a warring, post apocalyptic world? We would like you to design a new Alice, one which leads her friends to victory on the battlefield. Tim Burton did a similar idea with his version of Alice in Wonderland but we're looking for something even more gritty than that! Think American McGee's latest Alice instalment if you can. The illustration of the piece is just as important as the development of the character so plan your image carefully! As always, images which are not well developed will not make it to the poll!

Things to remember:

• Think about the inllustration of the piece But do not forget the character design!
• Must be female
• No young children. Alice need to be between 16 and 21. She is a young woman now.
• Must wear blue (Thanks to disney, this is Alice's trademark colour)
• Wonderland is a FANTASY world, so your designs don't have to be founded in reality (Think World of Warcraft, Warhammer or Rift etc)
• Can be any style or genre but try to keep it dark
• ADDITIONAL CREDIT: You can also include other characters and what they might look like, as long as Alice is the main feature.

@SuadK It look good but watch your proportions. At the moment she is looking very masculine (Narrow hips, wide shoulders, thick neck, long torso). Th effect on the clothing though is awesome, especially the boots!

Here's my wip, I am not that satisfied with the outfit so far, want to add more of the warrior side of the concept, so far it's just basic known Alice dress hmm... I am planning to give her some sort of mask, not sure where to go with this one... Not easy to combine armor with that dress, but I want the "old" Alice to shine through :/

@SuadK, @Rinibee - I agree that she is a little masculine, but that's part of what I like about your piece so far - the strange androgyny is great. If you make her more feminine, I urge you not to take it too far - so many fantasy depictions of women lean towards the extreme curves side of things. Looking forward to seeing the final.

Well it's been awhile. Promise myself I will join more of these activities so here we go!

For the first post, I am trying to get the lighting and mood down. Trying out Rembrandt with chiaroscuro lighting style. Chose this because it reflects Alice's mind during these period, hazy, confused and unsure about womanhood. A lot of the theme and design around this piece will be based on this period of confusion. Apocalypse indeed.

The idea is a vulnerable Alice. Think the new Tomb Raider, very human, but placed in a fantastical setting. In this piece, she is hunting one of the army from the Queen Of heart. She is still fearful, but ready, as her survival instinct kicks in. She have laid a trap for the creature.

I am in the process of designing her costume, which would be a mix of military garb plus some patchworks. Hopefully we'll get something interesting for that department in the next update

Pakgad, that is really gorgeous but young women are feisty things and especially Alice, if you read the book. She goes around correcting a lot of people's grammar, as far as I can recall.

Nice topic, lets see if I can actually finish something for chow, been to occupied with creature designs. This is some good motivation, kick ass fantasy chick! Thinking about going for an archer Alice. Archers are awesome, and no need for heavy armour since they are ranged units.

Awesome topic. Haven't really drawn anything in a month or two, this is gonna be a good way to get back into the swing of things.

I'm aiming for an older Alice who returned to wonderland to find the Queen of Hearts conquering everything. Alice has turned into a sort of rebel leader. Plan on having her have like scavenged heart themed armor/weapons (maybe repainted blue) mixed with Victorian clothing. Got the initial sketch down.

Mine so far. Still coming up with a composition idea. All I know is I want my Alice leading an army attack on the Queen's palace, only Alice, having eaten the magic mushrooms, is now 100ft tall.

As for outfits I'm still thinking about it.

Hey Guys I thought i would give CHOW a try, i did it once like a year ago so this is my second attempt which is scary considering the standard of people on here. Anyway This is a very rough first image of ALice, who is on a quest to return the Hatter's hat, she has just defeated the queen of hearts and decided that, for her effort, she deserved the queens breast plate, greaves and shoulder guard.
