hey hay hey, here's some more stuff I did yesterday and today.

rhino study for texture, really enjoyed painting it, some sketches studies from reference, worked a bit more on that piece "one man job", and started a Mikhail Nesterov master study. \o/

a longer still life, painting it was awesome, a girl from imagination (hard as hell D and more progress on "one man job", kinda lost with this one, don't like it that much anymore, and a very quick tank robot concept.

Great studies and figures.

My only crit is that a lot of your faces of human characters (both male and female) look a lot like from algenpfleger. I would search for some additional influences to dilute the main one.

Very nice sketchbook Pkmike. However, your work seems to be missing an undelying structure, especially in those faces from imagination which come across a little flat and in some cases misaligned.

Anyway, it seems like you're making progress, keep up the good work!

Great work here with the light and value, my only suggestion so far would be to make some more work in the anatomy field, because although your characters seem to have a flawless skin colors and values but their bodies and faces have some anatomy issues.
I've seen you make those hand and head studies, so just keep doing them and push forward!

Hey mike, awesome stuff. Great studies. One thing I thought of right away on your first page was to play with color a bit more. I see it improving already, like on the rhino piece and your last illustration. Read up a bit on general color theory maybe, (James Gurneys's Color and Light is just amazing and gets very in depth) You wouldn't want that awesome rendering becoming stale from lack of color variation.

Just a suggestion! You could leave this advice and still be kicking major ass.

something about the water and the atmostpheric perspective on the last one throws me off. seems like there is to much texture in the water where it feels more solid than liquid. i cant quiet put my finger on it.
