damn - everything from the third image down are just solid (I kind of like the first female study as well - but its' a bit wonky and there is something with the colours and how you mixed them that makes her feel a bit desaturated/dirty - you use the same strokes later on other pieces and on say the Sargent studies you instead got vibrant colours so could be the ref you used just as well.

    Either way really nice

I really like your colors and the way your handling the digital paint! They've got a loose/gestural quality, but the studies also have clarity to them!

Kiwee: Thanks! the technic uses dodge tool with big texture brushes and then smudge and brush to make it look better, it's really not that hard. \o/

Here's some more stuff, soon I'll get my scanner to work and scan some pencil sketches

great start so far! One thing I might suggest is using some larger brushes. Especially when you do faces, I find things get kinda streaky. Granted I'm no digital artist but i know it helped on the view acrylic pieces I've done.

This is a place where swarthy and belligerent dwarves drink turpentine mead, berate their apprentices and slap the trade into their skulls. I actually like the small strokes in your work. You handle them very well. It comes off more stylish than anything else, and as stated before you've really got the command for colours.

I feel your figures from imagination are lacking the kind of depth your studies do however. They feel slightly more 2 dimentional. I'm not sure if this is because they don't posses as much contrast in their colour range? I can't really put my finger on it.

Really awesome stuff in here so far. I'm anticipating some more work from your imagination...

wooden mango: I understand, yeah, looks kind of weird on these studies D:

Lostcookie: yeah, thanks! those are more like color studies, but depth it's something to pay attention to, will try to improve o/

Again Lovely studies - and the personal pieces are very promising - love the fleshed out parts of the dark green piece you use as a thumb for the thread.

& the other personal pieces are nice

I should also do Zorn studies - been too long (4-5 years )
