Insane studies as always Mike! I particularlt like the last character, great facial expression there.

As far as crits are concerned, nothing really as I'm always blinded by your progress. One point I will mention is that at times it seems as if the limbs aren't exactly as well fitted to the body as they should be (?). Sorry if that doesn't quite make sense, it's as if the elements in the shoulder areas are almost "floating" to an extent.

    Keep up the great work!!

Awesome dude if you want less of the danielc look i'd reccomend using less of that kinda 'spot lighting' like you have on those monster dudes, doesn't really happen much in real life and is more of a style thing. Try some different lightsources picture at the bottom is so sick

Ludic: Thanks Ludic! appreciate your comments a lot

SamC: thanks dude! yeah totally get you, I'm working on that WOO.

    SO HEY!

Had some work this week, but not much, thinking about opening for more work soon, NEED A NEW PC, battlefield 3 needs me.
Finally my James gurney's book and my moleskine, gonna sketch like a mad man.

I'm really struggling with the life drawing thing, it's fucking hard, the girl's face sketch I did to apply some stuff i did on the Sargent study, also trying different light situations hope y'all like it people!

your critiques are very important. (sorry for the talk bla bla bla)

Mm this sketchbook always gets me going, nice updates mike i dont see many problems with the lifedrawing depending on the time frame. You just gotta get whats important down and most of the time you probably wont have much time for rendering the face with quick 5-10 min poses, its all about the gesture n shit which i can see is improving.

    Great stuff as always man!
One thing that is getting in the way of your images of being perfect is the anatomy, especially in the faces.
In that girl portrait the colors are very good but the head construction needs more work, some of the face features don't line up, and one of the main issues is with her eyes - they look as if they don't belong to the same face (different size, different colors..).

Anyways, you're doing great so far so just keep studying and practicing and you"ll be unstoppable!

Looking very good, man. Beautiful colors on those digitals. The designs look pretty crackin' too.

I think separating light and shadow more would give your life drawings even more solidity. Get the core shadows (the dark "line" between light and shade) in there. Take a look at these threads for example http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=209832&page=3 http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=162263&page=5

I really like the colors and brushwork on that Sargent study, but her face looks slightly crooked. I think it's the lips. They don't really seem allign with the center line. I couldn't find the original painting, so it's hard to tell what exactly is wrong.
