    Imagination

What the hell happened to my imagination and how do i get it back. Is that possible or should i quit art now. I think i have a decent grasp of just technical aspects of drawing but when i try to do something with em it just goes nowhere. anyone have helpful ideas or what. im about to jump out a window.

turn off your computer for a few days, go outside people watching.....fantasize about having conversations with hot girls....it'll wake up.

My imagination falls asleep when all it's exposed to is the confines of a rectangular shape....be it a computer monitor, a stack of blank paper, the tv...

creativity and imagination can't be taught...you just gotta let 'em flow free.....the more you chase it the more it'll elude you....
...but like a butterfly, when you stop chasing it, it comes softly and sits on your shoulder....

....doesn't hurt to go cloud watching either.....and eat healthy....everyone is more creative when they're healthy.

Look at your dreams, let your mind have rambling thoughts while spacing out, make lines on a paper and see what you might see in them, remember back to your childhood days and think of what you played or drew.

try writing a stream of consciousness journal first thing when you wake up. three pages of a small notebook. that should unplug your imagination blockage. or eat cheese before you go to bed as it induces dreams and write them down in the morning.

    hope that helps

i have a big collection of pics i've collected from various places and artists, and use them for inspiration occasionally. sometimes i notice i get more ideas and better stuff comes out if i DON'T look at the stuff other ppl do too much.

so, some inspirational material is good in moderation, too much might kill yer head.

Imagination can't be taught you have to let it flow out like the others said. Get away from the computer monitor and the stacks of paper and just let your mind wander, it will find its home.
