Something else I started. Not sure where it's going.

20 min quick paint.
Figure Study, brush strokes are horrible, was focusing on not using a soft brush to blend, and getting values. As well as correcting anatomy, line of motion, etc.
Took longer than I would have liked.

I thought I'd engage in a half hour of frustation with trying to draw a camel. I present the Dork of the animal community...

Random painting, ship, lake, mountains. Sort of sprung out of nowhere, I think the value studies are paying off...

Doing some still life studies, pretty interesting and useful. I'm really starting to see those values and colors.
A study in lime...
Lunchtime study, pencil. Didn't have time to finish the whole frame.

Looks like your making great progress. Those studies look better and better. Keep it up!
Looks flat, I think it has perspective issues...don't like it.

Finished lime study with the reference.

Finished with my old apple study.

Nice Improvement with the studies! The lime is pretty impressive. Your apple is rendered well, but the bottom left quadrant looks off to me. Either your proportions are off, or the coloring isn't giving it the feeling of receding from the viewer properly.
I would really like to see some more anatomy studies from you. Especially some life studies.![]()

Thanks Skittles, I will certainly get some more life studies. I've been doing pose sketches in pencil but haven't loaded them up. I have been really needing to look at portraiture and facial proportions as well as movement and body structure in general. That bottom part was really weird, I believe the reference photo is earlier in my sketchbook when I started this study. I may have to go back over it and see what I can do. Trying to find time to get all these studies in, and paint the stuff I really want is hard, what with a full time job and everything. But I'm going to keep at it, poco a poco as they say in Spanish. I will try to do some anatomy and life drawing stuff this weekend to post up.
Girl on Beach study, incomplete, just a quickie before bed. Will finish it later.

A mood sheet and some thumbnails for the current EOW.

Hey, nice improvement on the apple and these value studies. I think maybe the eow thumbs feel a bit empty? I guess that's what it's like in space, but it might help to have something a bit bigger or closer to cameraThat treehouse perspective drawing on the first page is great too.
Hey Kvetch, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate the feedback. Yah, I was thinking the same thing, I didn't know if I should put the probe really close to the camera, or maybe some asteroids, or a planet filling most of the screen. At this point I'm trying to think about options for giving a good focal point for the shots. I tried to add some asteroids down on the bottom left, but they are still somewhat distant and not in the foreground. Think I'll play around with some different ideas and see what happens.
