Few digis from the past couple days, I'll get on and scan in my traditionals. Also going to do another self portrait later, now half of my hairs been cut off ;p
The woman is a wip obviously, got a long way to go, going to be working on her hair/lips next. Otherwise, studies, chest study... and posemaniacs. Should be able to tell that I started in the middle and kinda spiraled off, so the bottom and right ones are the last. Theres already a good deal of improvement :3 Most are 60 sec, but you can tell which ones I went back to and touched up.
And a self portrait which I liked more half way through. It has likeness, but I was happier with the light earlier on. Ohwell, you learn from mistakes!
u have a very good understanding of anatomy and painting, very beautiful work, would be nice to see more enviros?
really nice update, great studies, that male body turned out great!
wow really nice stuff!

pretty good stuff.
looking forward to see more!
Just a couple sketchy speedpaints. Landscapes are by far my biggest weakness... just need to do thumbs I guess (Which I never do! D: )
Anyway, also another anatomy study. Was for the arms mainly~
Just a quick post, I've got stuff to scan and whatnot, and thankyou's to say. But for now, I'm off to sleeps.
Okays! I still havent scanned in my drawings as I said I would >: I've been working through the loomis 'Drawing the Head' book. I'm starting to get familiar with the construction, but struggling with some of the feature placements. I need some guides to precisely measuring methinks.
Anyhow, for the moment, two screens. Hopefully they're iconic enough to not have to point out the films ;D
I was trying to be a bit more economical with brush strokes, and used a flat brush for Gimli, changing the direction depending on the contors. I'm pleased with my progress on that front... was also trying to use texture brushes properly, dunno how successful that was however! ;D
Yup! I knew what they were right away. Lovely work on gimli especially. Really love your pencil work! I can't find anything to crit right now, it looks like you're doing everything right. Post more!
both looks really nice to me, great work!
Very kool sketchbook and very nice drawing
I know! I know! No updates for ages!
Dont threat, I'm starting at uni this week, so I'm intending to get alot done in the coming weeks.
I feel guilty for not uploading anything, but I'm on my new PC, nothing to show on it sadly! I'll make up for that though.
Right. I havent posted in this for aaaages. I really must. Especially considering I appreciate the criticism and comments here more than practically anywhere else. I'll post some recent work, from the last few months atleast, either uni projects or self set work. The divide is usually pretty obvious! Enough chatter, onwards with year two of BA Drawing (its quite shocking to see my last post was me heading off to uni on my first day like a little school boy)!
For now, some recent landscapes, a couple of them studies, but not loyal to the reference. Adding/removing elements. And a few dragon sketches just for something different!

Oh and a Character of the Week entry which sadly I missed the deadline by an hour or two! Nevermind, I'll post it anyway. Spirit of winter:

Really nice environments!!.
Too bad about the chow it looks good, maybe a bit over sharpened but that´s a fine line![]()
Thankyou DK! And yeah, I admit it is, but that was slightly intentional for once! Same with the armor illustration I'm about to upload
Rocky landscapes, which im doing quite a few of atm and an armor study/little inked illustration. I know the perspectives really odd in the rocks, was me changing the scale of something which in reality is only about a foot tall

Doing a book of self portraits. Here are just a few. Biro, pencil, biro~

Couple rock studies and a last one from photo ref! Penciiiilllll

nice work, your pencils and digital work are both very good, very nice balance! keep it up!
Thankyou Kevin! I try to keep up with my digital, even if my degree doesnt really appreciate it. Their idea of drawings tends to be something on paper. I need to educate my tutors!
Heres a couple strange ones from my current uni project. The idea of the brief is to do drawings of a complicated subject matter. Mine being first person PoV self portraits. Which we then have to deconstruct, making them into 3D, or making a Marquette etc, which then we have to draw from. I'll post a couple images of both the drawings it originated from, and the 3D construction later. But for the moment heres a couple observations from the model!
The whole idea is that we end up with drawings of a model that we could never have comprehended.

While I've got the scanner plugged in: A life drawing from the other night. 45 minute sitting I believe

A few master studies from a little while ago. I really should do more of these. I'm coming to realize that I need to practice the values of skintones. Onwards with photo studies me thinks!

Couple studies like I said I'd try. And a random red mage tiger for a friend to use as an avatar! :p
Main focus was the skin values. Getting a better idea of the gradual shades. Its more the cheek/jaw areas which give me issues from imagination.

Second attempt at jump starting, I am on my 5th-6th attempt and I would love to have your rendering skills. Good job keep at it!

Thankyou! Both of you~ I really need to train myself to have an imagination. Its a case of me being in a pit where I feel like I cant ever make wrong drawings (which I know is a stupid and harmful concept, but nvm, its there).
I need to step away from what I can do, and actually learn stuff. On which note, trying to do some thumbnails, at this actual size. Keeping small and limiting myself. Aaaaand another rocky thing.

Gorgeous studies. Keep posting!
Eh, lil bit of scribbling this evening. Most writing up uni work (the joys)
For how long this took me, and without ref, I'm pretty happy. Buuuut, I have so much to learn for drawing from imagination.

Right. Finished work for my last project, which wasnt all that interesting or relevant to be posting here! Regardless, got the next brief. Have a three week brief on storyboarding a narrative. As I'm reading Game of Thrones atm, it seems a no brainer. I have however watched the TV series first, thus I have in my mind what the characters should look like. But regardless, I might keep them in their archetypes. As its such a short brief, and the focus is on the storyboarding element, im not going to entirely redesign them. The comic style is enoguh to get my head around without having to design the characters first! I'm thinking I might choose the early scene in the story where John Snow and Tyrion are by the stream, on their way to the wall. But enough jibbering, quick attempt at the style, and first study of tyrion's facial form:

Current storyboarding project has been mostly scrappy stuff on paper what doesnt make much sense without all the descriptions of camera framing/panning etc, and isnt all that exciting to look at! Anyhow. been experimenting with a few digital styles of comicing the extract. Heres a couple examples~
