Here's my final. The idea being that it's early years of space travel, and although space travel is being widely used by the navy and such, life has not yet been discovered. Thus, only the Captains get transported back to Earth for burial, everyone else is launched towards distant star systems in these pods, designed to preserve them, and hopefully show others that there is other life in the universe.

WIPs are in the WIP thread.

This is a space inhabiting race where an individual has very high value. After death the body of the person is preserved and placed floating into a spherical pod. In the hands of the person is placed a data storage device which contains all available information about and by that person and an artificial intelligence based on that person. Each pod can connect and communicate with other pods. They are stacked together in a huge megastructure which forms an archive of the race's history build up of each individual life. One can connect to any of the surface pods to gain access to the archive.

Droid You have a nice clean design and an interesting idea. There's also clear Star Trek reference.

How come so few people participate in IDW? It's kind of boring like this. KleeWyck cold have at least posted the wip

Leysan Cool idea. Reminds me of The Matrix, with all the bodies in pods on the skyscrapers and such.

As for participation, I think it's mainly down to theme. Competitions like CHOW and COW always have loads of people in them, but for IDW, POW, and Teen Challenge it's all down to theme. Like, if the theme was something easy but "cool" like a heavily armoured police suit, or a battle cruiser spaceship, then it would probably have more entrants.

People are just reluctant to step out of their comfort zones I guess.
