The head looks good. Particularly like the solidity... the far eye wraps around the edge. Nice job.

    Hey man,
A lot of good studies. I really like the heads. I think you should check the eyes anatomy. It´s looking like a little flat on your studies. Also try to capture the expressions of the eyes.

    Keep it up!

So good! I’m loving the Photoshop studies. The skulls look great and you can really see how they helped with your imagination work. Looking forward to more!

insane lemur: Hey in terms of how I work, uhm I usually do really really really really really rough "linework", it's really rough and then just build it up with tone from there. Yeah, you're right though I should try that, hmmm maybe that's tonights exercise.

p sage: Hey thanks! It's funny, looking at it now a couple days after, I see so much wrong with it. XD

lionheartGFX: Thanks a lot man And yeah you're probably right, my heads need a lot of work XD It's something I'm always working on.

Binarydood: Oh wow, thank you very much. I'm nothing special though. aha XD

Luk999: Mhm yeah you're right, it's funny I've drawn a lot of eyes, but it's something I've come to neglect a lot. Hmmm gonna have to fix that.

Eternal Apprentice: I believe in you!

    DNVN: Thanks a lot XD

    chevy28360: Haha thanks man!

rastaray: Awww you make me feel so special!

    SophieW: Thanks! A lot ^_^

Here's some more stuff aha...yeah. It's crappy...and that face EEP gonna have to work on those.

    Yay for studies!

The last image there (the orc?): I feel like it's too soft and blurry; almost like he's out of focus. Try mixing hard and soft edges in his face. Also, his left (our right) eye seems a bit too high?

    Keep it up!

Really nice palette and mood in your recent posts Psycho, your last one I would probably have that purple light influencing more in the shadows of the imp, it's quite a bright source so the drop off rate of the light will be more lower.

So many skulls! They're all really nice. =) Your non-skull head studies - it's hard to say, because you posted them so tiny (I'm talking about the top image in post 670) but the eyes look way too far apart on most of them, and a bit too high in some of them, as though you're putting the eyes where the brows should go. They're too close together. Refer back to your skulls - the brows go along the brow ridge, the eyeballs sit in the sockets.

Watch how you render the skulls; one of them (the one that's facing us) looks as if it's made of metal.

Agreed with others who say use hard brushes a bit more. But, you're quite good at simple backgrounds and colour. Post more soon!

I really like the skull and head studies...I need to do more of those. Also, I loved that female nude study. I am assuming it is a digital painting. I want to eventually work my way up to doing digital painting ( an real painting too.) I am just trying to work on my drawing skills now...but what program do you use...photoshop? Painter? both?....I don't really have any idea where to start with painting...I know I need to get better with drawing first, but it would be fun to just play with it...but I don't know where to start...any ideas? or can you direct me anywhere? Thanks...and thanks for inspiring me with your sketchbook.

DUDE! Do you have a REAL skull? I love how you are tearing up those studies man. I have to ask. How many paintings/drawings are you doing from life vs from pictures? Approx ratio? I got the opportunity to talk to a really cool dude in the industry and he was telling me that if you want to improve 3x as fast to do three things:
    -Draw every day
    -Draw from life
-Drop you pencil and use a PEN.

I'm sure you already have the draw everyday part down. What do you think about his suggestions?

Thought i would share the good stuff with you cuz, well... we are bros. Bros deserve to know. Keep training dude!
Do a lot of work and your work will be as good as your ambitions.

Eep! I lied about the next day, better late than never though

luthertaylor : Ahh thanks a lot man! I went and put your crit into use and it totally helped out ^_^

Revidescent: Thank you and you're right, I never really noticed this before you posted it XD Know it's the only thing I see in them, you've totally given me something watch out for

    RissaKay: Thank you!

Umbravita: You're right I think, I was trying to push the value range a little too much XD And yeah I'm trying to use them more now, it's something I've been afraid of for a while.

llex_paul: You're right, colour is great I really should do more. It just sucks cause I'm rushing around most of the time B&W is just easier. I guess what I'm saying is I'm really lazy XD

    kaikaisushi : THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

amaranthxx : Thank you, and I already sent you a message. I hope you found it useful.

    eclip-se: OH, thank you sir!

    Mike L: Thanks, trying too!

Eternal Apprentice : Actually they are all from reference aha XD A real skull will be a purchase very soon. Uhm in terms of what's from life versus photos, it's probably 3/4 photos and 1/4 life. I've been meaning to do more still lifes, fruit paintings and stuff for a little bit now. It's hard to find the time. Also thanks for the hints man, I agree with them all. I do certainly draw every day, and there's no bette rway to improve, same with life drawing and painting, it teaches you so much more about light and form than photos, and the pen thing I haven't tried it but I'm sure it would really help to build confidence and accuracy. I'm gonna make sure to stop by your SB soon!

Hey everyone quick morning update. Aha I'm trying my best not to disappear T_T

Good studies. I do agree that the skull does look a little like it has a metal texture. Not sure why or if that is what you are going for. Great lighting on your paintings.

As for what Eternal Apprentice said, even though drawing from life is better, I think taking your own photos and working off that is almost as good. This way you have control over it at least. About the pen thing, I'm not sure about that. I'll have to try it myself.
