Awesome Armor studies! I like the siloutte characters a lot, man.. they look so cool, with ink-like brush strokes and all that. Will you paint these characters too? Looks like they could be great design to start with.

Great studies! Keep it going.![]()
Ahhh, you are a seasoned veteran, 18 pages. I really like your studies. Good work and keep shining on!
Well fighting can be all sorts of different angles really. But I like your take. Also the all silver knight and the still life are beautiful man.
Great to see more studies, gambate! ('keep going' in Japanese) I particularly like your drawings that look like they're done in ink -post #506
I second ThomasM's two cents about edges, and generally the pose, if it's something with movement draw with reference to someone or Donatello from TMNT blocking an attack.

You're definitely working hard towards your goals and doing really good work. Good luck and keep going!
rinnikirun: Thanks for the crits man!
Noomwolf: Uhm thanks, I'll try to work on that.
Eternal Apprentice: Haha man, not too much to be jealous of, and just keep working I'm not very good catching up to me should be easy.
ThomasM: Wow man thanks so much for your insights, I've taken everything to heart and I'm totally working on it.
Cabbage Caterpillar: Thanks man, and no I probably won't paint them...I dunno maybe I will on one of them someday, but now they are really just quick 15 or 20 minute doodles.
Mashach: Thaks dude, I will!
Hew Viana: Haha not so much of a veteran yet, but thanks a ton!
Pete Hidalgo: Yeah man true, I could call it a mental fight. Thanks too man, it means a ton.
tangofanatic: Haha thanks man I will! Thank you for your thoughts man, I've really taken what you said to heart as well, also how did you know that Donatello was my favourite turtle/
Candra H: Thanks I'm just happy you came back! Thank you for your compliments, it means a lot.
Here's something I'm working on for the Teen Challenge, I've been feeling kinda sick today so I'm moving slow on well this, the studies, pretty much everything XD. Anyway I'll quit whining and get back to work!

nice stuff man keep it up iam watching ya!
I can understand your feelings for head studies ~.~
one of my problems is that i am always too concentrated on the side where the nose is, so i cant have the view over the whole head and it ends in a big propotion chaos, i think you got this a bit too, may just try to do like loomis says build on the middle and think about what is on the other side of the head to balance it, especially the way from ear to chin
excalibur, From the United King
I'm looking for her
I'm going to California!
Anyways, I am really liking the fur on the back of that demon thing!
Lots of improvement here since the beginning. I can't really think of any advise that hasn't already been said so I'll just say keep going. You can make it to 1,000 pages, right?![]()

Wow man. Looking at your work start to present is like night and day. So far I love going through and seeing the transformations people are making in their work! I really dig your studies. What impressed me a lot was your digital paintings of the fighters. I found this truly enjoyable, the figure, the action, the lighting; all just so awesome dude. You have so many studies too.
Are these all from Bridgeman?
cool stuffs!! liked your color sense. Keep them coming...

Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. I see yours is an impressive 18 pages
I love the way you do figure studies, especially the way you block in the shadow. whenever I do that it seems to flatten my images but you manage to get it to work well. The teen challenge entry is pretty cool. I especially like the way you've used contrast to draw the eye to the skeleton dude. His back looks very 3D. Though it's depressing as hell to note the 'teen' partSadly I was not that dedicated as a teen
Ah well, great work keep it coming.
Liking all the stuff on the page before this and cannot wait to see your entry for Bone Doll!
your study here is amazing i need to learn to do that... any tips on your process for life drawing? was that from pic ref or from life?
Wow, there's heaps of improvement in this SB, really awesome![]()
I think everyone else pretty much have you covered on concrit so all I can say is keep at it![]()
You've been keeping busy!! it's great and inspirational! I've been trying to do some more reading as of late but when I see this it makes me want to go "Fuck it I'll learn it after repeated drawing" lol keep it up![]()
If I happen to comment on your sketchbook, please don't feel obliged to comment on mine. use that time instead to get back to work.

Haha, my guess with Donatello being your fav TMNT was simply out of luck! I just remember him wielding a stick like martial artists.

Hey thanks for stopping by my sketchbook, your comment was really insightful and helpful to me!
Wow looks like you've been working hard, that's great. Only thing I'd say is don't be afraid to use reference in your imaginative work too if you aren't already!
dimi: Thanks man.
Neyut: Yeah man, I get what you're saying. I'll watch out for it thanks.
Steeliebob: Haha.Thanks man.
Lost Shock: Oh hopefully I can.
The Enlightened One: Thanks for all the compliments! Uhm no not all the studies are from Bridgman, a lot are, I love his stuff it's always been a great way for me to learn. Some of the other stuff, is loomis, Hampton, Vilppu, Hogarth, Vanderpoel, and uhm just a lot of life stuff. I draw parts of me a lot, standing in front of the mirror or whatever.
sutapa: Thanks I'll try.
SpaceJelly: Thanks so much, you're too kind really.I'm a late teen haha, I am 19 so it's nothing to feel to bad about.
Shahan: Thanks man, it's pretty much done, I just added a couple photo effects for the final, some noise and chromatic aberation. Tricks really, and uhm yeah here I made a gid for you. Feel free to ask me some questions any time you want I'm sure my words would be more helpful than this.
Kanda: Thanks, and I will.
luthertaylor : Haha well reading is important too, I've been sick lately so I've been doing more reading than I have in the past, it does help in some aspects. Especially Gurneys Colour and Light...now that's a helpful liitle book.
tangofanatic: Haha yeah he's the coolest. Purple is a great colour. XD
liquorbleu: No problem, any time! Yeah you're right...I dunno I find when I try to ref things too much my stuff gets really stiff...or maybe it doesn't and I just don't like it. Who knows. I'll try to work it in a little mre though, I'm sure it couldn't hurt.
Hey guys...updates might be uhm a little sparse...hell this one is crappy...really.
But yeah...I've been sick and I think it's getting worse...anyway that sounds like an excuse...which it is. But I'm having a really hard time focusing and well having any energy, hopefully I'll bounce back.
I appreciate all you guys coming in here and dropping me comments, it means a lot and it's kept me going so far. When, I get through this I promise I'll redouble my efforts and make up for any time I've lost. Anyway here's the updates. I'm sure you can tell...I wasn't thinking during them....it was mindless; it shows.

Hey,
Been going trough your sketchbook and gotta say, lots of good things happening here. The still lifes look very very good. I notice that you seem to set the objects on your moleskin sketchbook. The sketchbook being black there is very little bounced light.
It might be better if you would set your objects on a lighter, perhaps even brightly colored surface. That way you can easily see the effect of bounced light and color bleed.
Regarding your cast studies. Structurally they look ok. The values however are a bit muddy. Luckily Gurney has easy fix for this:
http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.fi/201...-mumbling.html
Also look and study Sargents paintings and drawings. Make note how clearly the values are separated and how subtle the value changes are in the lit areas.
Keep it up!
Hey man, thought I'd stop by again. Few crits ,
That Teen Challenge piece, did you use reference on the skull? The features are not in perspective.
I noticed in your boxer studies, there's no form in them, they are quite flat. Are you imagining the form, or drawing it out but very lightly?
But man those cast studies are looking great! Keep it up!
Hey thanks for stopping by
You have awesome studies in your sketchbook
I notice you have some studies from bridgeman
Keep up the good work man
