Anyone in devon/plymouth know of any life drawing classes/fancy a meet up? I'm so booooored.
There are some life drawing sessions in Tavistock on a Thursday I think, i spoke to one of the models there and she said there are a few around including plymouth...didn't get details though.
I live in yelverton (20 mins busride from plymouth). My email/msn is: [email protected]
A sketchmeet in central London - let's get one going, does the 25th sound good?
Also, any local London artists are welcome to contact me!
I'll be in Kilburn, a bit north-west of the river, if there's some regular meets going on, I'd love to take part in those

The 25th sounds good to me vatsel! last meet there was a mention of semiregular meetups but everyone has disappeared! i would be really down for that in london as i really need to be sketching more!
ghostbrush - yes! I have you on msn, login please.
tehmeh -awesome! lets get this going, I'll need a way to contact you.
you're free to give me a call on 07979 683317 or get in touch through msn/aim/email
Ive read a bit before on this thread that you used to meet up in the national gallery, that would be awesome. So Saturday the 25th in the national gallery?
More ideas are welcome ofc
Let me know!
-V
Yup! I'm down for the 25th. I agree that it got a little quiet after the last meet, but if people are interested, a few of us go life drawing at the Mall galleries on a regular basis- normally fridays or mondays. Look up the Hesketh Hubbard society.
Also, I'm down at the V&A, sketching, tomorrow if anyone else's down for that- Ghostbrush, I'm lookin at you boi!
What's the plan for the 25th?
Edit:
National Gallery sounds good, although it can get really crowded this time of year and on a saturday. I'm up for any other suggestions, but National Gallery is a good place to start. Last time we ended up at the Hunterian 20 mins before closing, but it would have been awesome to spend more time there. Maybe that could be another option! Also, any of the other Surgical museums would be a good place to sketch too.
Wow, that life drawing is cheap as chips Belindi, how often do you go?
Looking forward to the 25th, I would also love to spend more time in the hunterian.
It's cheap right? The only catch is that you have to pay for all sessions in advance til the end of the year. However, it works out really well and gives incentive to go to every session. It's normally once a week, but since there are a few breaks this month, it's going to be monday and friday for a weeks in October. I'm looking forward to 2 sessions a week though. The next session is the 24th if you want to come along for that.
Yeah it's a bit less than that for a term's worth at the only life drawing close to me, I'll see you there on the 24th![]()
Vatsel, tehmeh, Belindi:
I'm free for the 25th, National Gallery was super crowded month back last I went but it'd be interesting to see the Hunterian again.
I wont be able to make tomorrow for the V&A but I go to the Tate Britain on Wednesdays at around 2pm and then drop in at the LARA life drawing in the evening. Anyone's welcome to come along.
Hello, all im new here and based in Cardiff, hoi o/
Hi FootstepsBeckon! Get a sketchbook going!
Just to let you guys know Civilization V comes out the night before the meet, so don't expect me to be fully conscious
have done tehmeh! :3
so ive had a skim of the thread now...are none of the welsh artists active? i really want to group up/socialise and draw with other folks in my neck of the woods rather than bussing to london back and forth q_q
the only welsh users i was aware of were me ( im in Bristol now though ), Quicksilver and a guy called phill....i can't remember his user name though. Basically my point was that there were never sketch meets in wales that i was aware of, as there aren't many members, few that post anyway
I used to travel to bristol now and then for sketch meets, but those have pretty much stopped in Bristol, seems mostly London who meet up regularly as theres obviously a larger collection of members there
nice to meet you, lefran! id be up for some travel to bristol sometime if you fancy scrapping something together- do you have msn or anything like that?
well term hasnt started yet, usually takes a little while to get going, but if we do decide on any sketch meets i'll surely PM you or something!
I've talked to a few of you already, so let's get this going
On Saturday the 25th, from 11:30 and a few hours afterwards, I'll be drawing in room 36 of the national gallery.
That's the first big room on the right (see map).
I don't know what the plan will be afterwards, so if you're late call me on
07979 683317
Also, if you're planning to arrive, send me an email/text - it helps me keep things in order
See you there!

Was great meeting everybody!
Stay tuned for the next sketchmeet![]()
I'll try and make it to the next meet, sounds like good fun. I'm in Surrey so just a short train ride away !
Going to a life drawing session tommorow at the Quakers Meeting hall (O_O) in Reigate tommorow, £7 for a few hours. It's my first one but i'm sure it'll be a great experience, anyone else ever been to it ?
The name's Drew btw.
Heya Loki.! will be great if you make it
For the next sketchmeet I'm thinking about the 9th of October (Saturday) at 11:00.
This time I'm looking at the British Museum as our starting point - lots of sculptures to draw there, should be nice.
Let me know if you need a time/location change!
As always, feel free to text me on 07979 683317 if you have any questions or whatever.
Awesome ! Sculptures will slot in perfectly with my college work. I remember drawing some in France, it was fun and I learned loads. I may bring a friend if she wants to go, seeya there !
