I'm currently teaching transport design, so next week I'll be traveling between

1/ Brooklands International -Tuesday Am to PM - Admission 8 pounds. Learn from hands on WWII service crew and pilots about aviation history, where all the prototypes for racing motorsport and aviation legend was born. Concorde now lives in Brooklands and is being restored here.

2/ RAF London Museum, Hendon - Free admission from Thursday onwards:

From a total collection of well over two hundred aircraft, over a hundred full-size aircraft from all over the world are displayed under cover on the historic site of the original London Aerodrome. These include the legendary Spitfire and Lancaster Bomber.

3/ RAF Cottesmore - seeking Harrier afterburner liftoffs and F15s.: RAF Cottesmore is the core component of Joint Force Harrier, and is currently home to the Four operational Harrier Squadrons: 1(Fighter) Squadron, IV(Army Cooperation) Squadron 800 Naval Air Squadron and 801 Naval Air Squadron. The base is also home to 504 (County of Nottingham) Squadron, Auxiliary Air Force.

to grab some decent first hand experience, and knowledge (field trips!) so I can help folk learn how to build functional engines and chassis for various transport designs.

elloha everyone... just thought id ask if anyone wants a laptop? My girl is headed off to travel and is sellin it cheap, so maybe ppl want a painting machine (not the fastest, but tis cheap) ... 80 quid. dunno, anyways, specs are:

oooh, i might be interested, but i wouldnt be able to get it for a month as i have no funds now because im off to barcelona for the week tomorrow, and my next pay day is just under a month, if thats too long no problem, sell it on to someone else, especially coz id imagine postage to be a lot

OK, we're going to a gallery, the name of which escapes me, but meeting up in Dimitris, (a bar near Deansgate station) at 12 o'clock.

There's umpteen arty festivals and whatnot going on around the time, but nothing's really leaping out at me yet. Still keeping an eye on this though.

Deansgate station has about 500 exits, so I don't expect you to find Dimitris with ease. If you head in the direction of the Hilton (the massively tall hotel with Hilton on the side), you're on Deansgate, so is Dimitris.

Chee: Dunno, my mum doesn't think I should take a car with me to uni and I'm not sure if I can afford it. Will seee....I don't mind either way - not fussed on driving, though my dad kept poking me to learn and get a license, so ya....

I can sleep in a cupboard if nescessary.

Is anyone by any chance driving through or near stratford upon avon, or anywhere in the west midlands really? Ill help pay towards petrolio of course, but if its way out dont worry about it.
Train prices are abit hefty depending if I get this student discount card in time.

Also any thoughts about a thunderdome soon? Unless ive just recently missed one.

Summer Pudding Sounds cool. I will have to look at a map prior to finding the place so I don’t get lost and embarrass myself in front of my pals/Caers, who will hopefully both join in. Yeah every one probably doesn’t have a clue who I am but I am just going to come along anyways and have a laugh, get some serious crit and hopefully makes some pals.

This meet sounds uber great. Would have been cool to meet all newcomers as well as the mighty pudding imself. Also be good to meet the bravery, we were in a t dome matchup together once but work meant that he couldnt stump up.

Will check dates and all.

Any chance of getting a UK badass meet together? Chance to meet all the peeps that we havent been able to so far. I aint met that many btw!!!!

How about a small south meet after the great northern meet (for those who could not make it, including myself).

Kim and I can help ferry a few souls to this wonderful place in the South, Farnham called the sculpture park (great scupltures, and isnpiration for any artist - figurative/landscape/transport) and a lovely National Trust area, called the Devil's Punchbowl, al arge deep gorge dissappearing into a deep valley, as if a massive giant's hand carved a nich into the mountain side.

Molly dropped me a PM about the Manchester gathering...

I did say 'yes' earlier in't' year to this, and still might be able to do it. I'll double check wiv da missus to see if she's arranged a quick trip to the Bahamas without telling me. This may just be my preference, but I would have thought the Village might have been a better place to meet up. It's closer to Manchester City Art Gallery and also Piccadilly train station. However, I'm easy and don't want to stick my oar in when plans have been made.

I'll see if Mr Duddlebug is up for it too. How is the flooding affecting people? Buxton's the highest town in England, so I'm expecting house prices to soar(!) but even we get the odd flood.

PS: I believe the gallery we'll be going to is the one you mentioned. Jon has the skinny on that. I've never been myself. Also, Dimitri's is only a ten minute wlk or so from the gallery, and its pretty much the only watering hole we're familiar with.

PPS: Bolton's a bit 'soggy', but not 'float awayey'.
