S'Pud - you know I'm well up for that! Aint been to Camden in AGES!!!!
that Fluid place in Farringdon looks cool...but non-existant dance floor? hhmmm tsk tsk.......I've been to Worlds End pub, but never beneath it...maybe the time is nigh....

    Hollyx

Edit: actually, Fluid sounds nice and expense..... - what about the Garage in Highbury and Islington? They do a great Indie night thing on a Saturday? But...I like the idea of Camden...what time does the Underworld close at? 2? 3? 6? I'd be looking to party all night maaaan.....

Well, back in the day, Underworld and The Dome closed around 2ish. If you know of anywhere that's open later than that, I guess we head there, not fussed.

    SPudxxor

EDIT: with 24hr boozers now a wonderous reality, I'd be surprised if we couldn't find somewhere after the club, especially in Camden.

Weekdays would be better for me, though I might be working throughout Easter hols (am painfully skint atm). Steph will be around on the 6th, right? So 9th-13th? There's a possibility I'll have the 8th off.

no but i watched a similar programme with hugh fearnley whittington ( sp?) the river cottage guy, we had to analyse it in media
there were about 5 people that loved chicken , but ate poor quality like kfc, or cheap supermarket chicken without realising why it was so cheap, they went on to his farm and learnt what happens by visiting battery freerange and organic chicken farms , had to learn to kill the chickens and cook them from scratch to appreciate it more
i guess its similar, did you see that one?

Does that mean we might actually get the kick up the arse to have that Manchester meet people keep murmuring about? (you southern folk seem to have far too much fun) i know Kian, Staz, Posh and Badger were all into the idea.....

yeah it looks like I missed meeting you fellas by a whisker last year. In a few years I'll be living in the hostile, inaccessible Lancashire Archipelago. Before climate change kicks off big style, we really should hook up!

I'll be working in Deansgate; home to Manchester's swankier bars, with a sprinkling of dingy, old men's pubs. You've got the Lowry centre nearby. That's where my knowledge of Manchester ends, but its a start.

Aly: I've already got a place in Bolton. Cheers btw.

Mols: try this link http://www.leadinglightdesign.com/ So, was that vid a big production with middle class guys from Slade, in puffer jackets and NYC baseball caps calling the shots, or a couple of brothers having a danceoff and capturing it on their camera phones?

Bravo: yeah man, you know it. I'll miss you too esseh.

Hey, yeah, so a Manchester meet??? Why dont you guys sort it man? I was chatting to Badger online the other day about a meet up north, and well, I've never been to Manchester before, it would be a great excuse to bowl on up there...

edit: thanks for the link Pud, made me smile for some reason...- hey the blurb at the front says he's BAFTA award winning? No way man serious?

CONGRATS, PETE!!! Soz it's a bit belated - wasn't sure what was going on with the post deletedness. It's great news though - hope Nicky and the munchkins are super happy too. ^__^

Fran: Cool~ It looks like fun. Is that Zoe at the front when you're all lined up on the stage? With her confused hedgehog t-shirt Bumped into her on the bus the morning the show was on. How did the Nationals go?

Haven't been around or caught up with anyone for quite a while now. What's up, people?? We still up for an Easter meet-up? Maybe we could paint eggs in the park (aawwwww....).

Poop, its my mates 21st party on 31st of sat so I cant go up north
Are we also having a londony meet thing, Im starting to get a bit confused

You know ive just had an idea! "lil thunderbolt strikes rich's brain"
Why dont we arrange some kind of small 3 day holiday chill fest type event some time. A mini workshop if you will. It doesnt have to be till ages but maybe we could get some foreigners over? If we arrange it late in the year itll give people time to save up and prep? Its just a thought anyway.

    Hello UK superlovers,

I have to tell you all about my fun visit to Lucas Arts last week! what a place, set in the Presidio park in San Francisco, at the southern end of the Golden Gate bridge, Lucas Arts is housed in an old refurbished hospital complex set in a gorgous Eucalyptus forest. the place is massive with game and film departments in adjacent buildings, walking round the place the first thing that struck me was the emphesis they put on concept art, i guess this should come as no suprise, but it was still quite a shock, and a pleasant one - to finaly see in the flesh, evidence of a large entertainment corporation that actually realises the importance of our trade!!!! it was almost a releif!!! every wall of every corridor, and most of the offices are loaded with huge A0 prints of current concept art from they're in-house team. so cool to see all that stuff!! truly great images too. elsewhere there were original matt paintings from famous movies and loads of movie props like that green ghost from ghost busters, complete with anamatronic robotic tech!! and one of the robotic diving suits from inner space as well as the actuall models of the converted shuttle from ....... not deep impact, the other one???? cant remember (eek) and the house from a series of unfortunate events - some dolls house that and........ i actually touched the real deal life size han in carbonite prop from empire/return *wilt* hehe. what a cool visit. also they wanted to hire me but i said nah

    hawhaw.

Le Fran, nice moves hon, that looks like great fun btw this is a fellow welsh person, on a long sojourn to england.

Mol - did you check my site yet? www.leadinglightdesign.com since u asked and pete provided. my old site went under (the one in my link, which i need to change) when i foolishly let the domain name slip, it was bought by some blood sucker company in angola or somewhere and held hostage at an exorbitant price, but i recently found they too let it lapse when i refused to pay up, so i got it back for like 4 euros or something, yay!!!!!! only took 2 years waiting.

    haha.

Pete, post the latest one of Wilbur Waitley, its awesome - S'pud is the king, is he not????

    laters all.

    Brave

PS. (additional edit) Mol - Re; the BAFTA. yes! to give you the full story, Black & White (released 2001), my first game, actually won 2 BAFTAs 1 for best interactivity, and 1 for best moving image, i could hardly take credit for the interactivity one, but as i modelled most of the creatures in the game, plus loads of other work as a member of the 4 man art team i feel it's fair balls to claim to be a BAFTA winner.

I've got a queesy uneasiness about that Old Whateley pic. We both know about its dubious origins. Best to just regard that one as a misguided experiment in photo ref and move on.

Without meaning to buddyjock to lamely, you've got to post your badass Philip Reeve pics, and the other recent odds and ends that are gathering dust on your hard drive. They're not much use there are they?

Thanks for the congrats btw folks. Sorry for the hissy fit.

fran: congratulations, you're through to the next round.

Brave...you-jammy-bastaad!!! Lucas Tarts? you turned 'em down? They not sweet enuff or its cos your jus' too good? .....Also, do you BAFTA winners like, share the trophy? Do ya's take turns to look after it an' all?...like, take it swimming, the movies, to the park....

    - I got a written warning from my school today. I should've expected it; its policy s'pose...but MY GOD it has pissed me off....Thinking of leaving that place anyways, as I am not committed enough to the 'School' .... just my work....tsk tsk....anyhoo... Gonna apply for The Princes Drawing Schools drawing year instead, I need competition, and a kick up the bum.
