calling all london based concept artists/illustrators/animators
a (subscription) life drawing class geared towards concept artists/illustrators/animators is under consideration at the london atelier of representational art (http://www.drawpaintsculpt.com/), the first of its kind in london that i'm aware of.
it would probably be once a week in the evenings, on a pay-for-a-set-amount-of-weeks basis. im rooting around to see if theres any interest, and what people would want from something like this.
there'd be input on what kinds of models/costumes/props/poses/lighting conditions we'd have. also possibility of hiring the model for reference photo shoots. any other suggestions also welcome (and strongly encouraged because i want this to be as useful to you as possible). let me know if you're interested, as there would be limited spaces, and please pass this message on to anybody else who might be interested

A bit of controversy for all who saw the Christies show that had some Zorns, apparently "Freja" had been stolen in 2004 from a private home in sweden. The police have been contacted, and the painting has been taken, pending furhter investigation. The insurance paid in 2004 was 3.000.000 SEK, about 273 515.49 GBP!

not sure what the snow situation in london is but there's no way us surrey dudes can make it today.
also some links i promised people, before I forget: http://erikgist.com/quicksketch.pdf http://www.erikgist.com/gesture.pdf http://erikgist.com/structure.pdf , and "michael hampton" for andrew.
Thanks Oli, I was just about to ask you for those links !
There's an awesome issue of ImagineFX called 'Anatomy' by Ron Lemen and Marshall Vandruff that's going back into print in January, but it's widely available online.
Couldn't make it today due to the snow, sorry guys.
Cheers Oli!
Have you guys seen this article about Dulwich gallery being 200 years old next year? Looks like it'll be interesting! They grow up so fast...
dulwich
what's up london? i'm gonna be in the UK from the 24th, but i'll be in london from the 29th or the 30th through the new year. i know there's crazy snow, but just wondering if people might be interested in meeting up for a sketching or even just for drinks or something. i don't know where anything is, so you'd have to suggest somewhere and i'd try to find it. but let me know if y'all are interested in meeting up; i've talked to some of y'all in virtual-land but it would be nice to meet the real people behind the awesomeness! happy holidays, hope to see y'all soon.![]()

Hey purb! Welcome to the UK in advance! I'm sure there'll be some sort of new year/post christmas shinanigans going on whilst you're here. I'd be well up for another sketchmeet (if the snow allows) and drinks. I think there are more plans to go to the Dulwich gallery to see the Norman Rockwell exhibition, if you're around and fancy it.
I'm free on the 30th if people are down for doing something then.
