Heheh, what could be more beautiful than the human form? But anyways, try and find some 'draped' classes at least

Once the holidays have settled down (and maybe less snowy...) I'm going to head out a lot more to draw, downtown for urban - elsewhere for trees and what not. Would be cool to meet up with some utahns and talk shop.

Hey guys, I thought I'd post a note here.

The Bountiful/Davis Art Center has it's Utah Illustrators Invitational exhibit up.

    Also from the website:
"On January 19 there will be an evening with renowned illustrator/artist William Maughan, 7pm at Bountiful/Davis Art Center, 745 South Main Street in Bountiful. Maughan is the Director of Graduate Fine Art Painting & Illustration at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA. Mr. Maughn began his illustrious career in New York City. He has been an illustrator for 34 years. He will be discussing relevant topics around contemporary illustration."

Something of note for us Utahns,
Came across some Atelier style training here in Utah; workshops for the masses and private instruction for a select few is what I gather.

In case anyone isn't aware, we have started a Utah thread in the Finding Scholarships sections of the site.

It's a place where we can post information about scholarship and award opportunities in Utah.

Does anyone know if there are any figure drawing classes for highschool students going on around Bountiful? I'd try to go to the ones at BYU but I have to go to school at that time! Plus my transportation wont allow me to go to BYU every friday. If only the Bountiful art center taught more classes like that. Their classes seem very elementary.

I'd also love to go to the weekly sketch group, but I don't think my mom would want me gettin together with a bunch of people I met over the internet to go drawing every wednesday.

darnit, I'd love to meet some o' you guys in person though.

Hmm, I'd be surprised if the U didn't have something. I know there are one or two in downtown SLC as well. King’s Gallery and Art Academy I think does for sure... I'll look into this some more, I really need to start it up again.

P.S. Does your mom care about your future?

    Spring is here, weather is beautiful;

Let's do it ladies and gentlemen; let's get out and draw.

How many of you are willing to meet:
    North Salt Lake Area?
    Salt Lake City Area?
    South Salt Lake Area?
    Provo/Orem Area?

(Any other areas if you want to set it up I'm not driving to St. George or Cache Valley )

Finally! I'm in Orem and would love to get together with others. I'm guessing the closer the place is to my house the more I would be able to go, but I wouldn't really mind having to even go up to Salt Lake.

My Vote of course is for Provo/Orem area though

Thanks for reviving this thread guys, lets make it happen!

Jeez, I'm all the way down in St. George! Is everyone up in the northern end of the state? No one down here to be my buddy? Maybe I could find some other reasons to head up there as well...

    The few but mighty, right?

I still can't believe Idiot Apathy and Emily G live here.
I'm in South Salt Lake area (Midvale) but could travel north or south for sketch groups.

I may hit King's on Tuesdays, perfect hours for me too.
