Just to sum everything up:

Upcomming Friday - 24th of June - we meet at Blijdorp Rotterdam , at the big gate entrance at the aquarium. ( the new part of Blijdorp, which has a huge parking lot and a big entrance. )

We meet at 11:00 till.. who knows!

. Man I definitely want to take my sketchbook to a zoo some time. I did once before but I lost the sketchbook I brought with me

(and gave a few sketches away to kids who really really wanted the tiger scribbles, lol). It helps to have people around you who are equally serious about studying (although fun must be had, of course).

But how can I join a group like this? It's really nice to see that the dutch artist group is so popular/populated btw. I would love to get in contact with more dutch artists. I'm a beginner but I'm really motivated to try and improve my skills

Hey guys 'n gals,

I recently started posting on CA and would like to meet up. Anyone up for sketching in Amsterdam in the weekend of 27th - 28th of august?

Also, does anyone here know if the courses at Wackers academie are any good? I'm thinking about doing this one (saturday afternoon version). Do they emphasize both construction and observation of the figure?

nickydraws: I didn't really have a plan yet but the Rijksmuseum sounds awesome. I'm can only make it on weekends though. Saturday 27th of august would be good for me. A week earlier might also be possible.

I'm thinking about going to the Rubens, van Dyck and Jordaens exposition in the Hermitage at Amsterdam on tuesday 22 november to do some pencil studies (taking a day off for it).

Anybody interested in joining? The date can be changed, but weekends are not an option for me.

Last call to arms: tomorrow at 11:00 we are meeting at the hermitage in Amsterdam to study Rubens.

Edit: my results of sketch trip to Rubens here. Had a great time. Who's up for another one? Maybe get together in a cafe or another museum?

Wackers is giving some workshops at realisme 12 this friday to sunday.

Tickets to the event Are €12,-. I'll be attending the following ones:
