    Kat_Rin's sketchbook

    Hi all
My name is Kate and I'm 20 years old. I was watching CA for a long time and I've finally found the courage to create a sketchbook. So here I want to post some studies to see a progress in my drawing skills XD

So here some skull sketches (they are a little bit stange T__T))

These are really good. I like the skulls, nice attention to angles and perspective. And I really like the two dogs, the personality in them. Clean lines and great work on the figures, much better than I could attempt.

Good stuff. I'll be watching your thread.

the skull studies look great,if you apply that determination and patience to the rest of your studies you'll go far :3

I hear you. Noses, ears, hands and feet are my weak spots. You're doing a great job with yours though. I like the way you point arrows in the direction of perspective/viewpoint - thats a handy trick that I'll be storing for trying myself later.

More lovely drawings. Keep up the great work.

the skull studies look really good and I like the sitting elf in post #2. There's a nice contrast between the forms.
In #4 it's good to see that you are working even on your linework. It looks more confident than the weak lines in some of your drawings before. Keep up all those studies, I'm sure you will improve. and never forget tutorials, references and life studies. Everything helps!

FootstepsBeckon thank you! Frankly speaking I have not patience at all (and it's a big problem XD) but I'll do my best (I hope)

Candra H thanks for encouragement! And yes, these parts of the body are really difficult to draw, but from the other hand they're simply beautiful))

griffinfly yes sir! And thank you

Valyavande thank you! and I'm trying to use all of these sources (except life studies T__T) and now I only want 48 hours a day not 24

So here is my ever first landscape (WIP but nevertheless). Moreover, it's my first ps colour picture. Of course I have to finish grass and flowers, but don't know how yet (panic))))

    and my reference

hey hey, here're nice solid noses in #10, 11 and 13,
and I'll email you a few notes soon (not a lot of crits really )

also I think it would be more handy to leave feedback if you'd numbered your sketches somehow through the pages, and rotated (in photoshop) the ones which need it into more or less usual positions (I mean those noses in #10).
Anyway, I'm glad to see you posting

Soo, it's been a while since I visited my sketchbook, and it's awful T__T

griffinfly thank you for your comment and your recommendations! But, you know, I'm sooo lazy >_<

    Candra H thanks! =)

Here there are some hands studies. I can say that noses were more easier to draw)) But I really want to gain skills in drawing hands. Also I drew some strange faces and landscape #2. And now I can go and read a book *__*

Again there are only quick sketches. Honestly I don't want to draw in photoshop... but on the other hand I have to do it. So the next week I'll draw only in PS... probably XD

< 3. thanks) I'll try, but it's really hard to draw constantly.. I have to improve myself!

Candra H hi! It's been a while T__T and I'm soooo ashamed... I'll try to post my doodles not every day but at least every week... Honestly XD

So there are my latest doodles since April.. Not all of them but the most... decent, I think. Now I'm working on legs and I have only one thing to say: I hate to draw them!! Sorry..)
Also I need to draw more (THOUSANDS) poses and faces, so I think next time I'll post them... Hope so. But I still haven't decided about whether it's better to train drawing them on paper or in photoshop...

Your work is great. You've got a good handle on humans and also on three dimensional form and light. Have you thought about taking all of that into something bigger like a finished painting? It might be just the thing to challenge yourself and push the bar higher.

Love that horse study by the way. You've really caught the movement and light well.

Candra H thank you! And yes, I thought about some finished paintings, because it would be a new level for me. I should leave my comfort zone.. I'll try!

    < 3. thanks! And as I say, I'll try =)

Another week passed, and it was really busy week. So I didn't have much time to draw T__T Here some doodles, photoshop trainings and one (the very first) concept of a character, and it's smth wrong with his face XD
