Damn it Flash...now I can't stop reading the posts about Granito!

P.S.- I think what really makes me sad is that a plagiarist will never know the joys of process and true creation. It's probably one of the most amazing feelings that our short lives provide us. They're so focused on the end product that they completely miss why an artist does what they do.

Anyone else think that the image of the car flipped vertically, looks a bit like the head of a Velociraptor?

    ...

Oh god, I can't unsee it now.

Anyway, as per the topic at hand: I believe a crucifixion is in order. I'll bring along my pitchfork and torch.

Gotta hand it to him. It was very clever to flip the image horizontally so no one would recognize it..

    Corinna,

It seems that your client Tom Krieger is a plagiarist. This was posted on my website today and it contains an image from my business partner's portfolio. http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=219111

Please see the above link and let me know if the artwork was used for commercial purposes.

Mr. Krieger. Cease and Desist from all usage of Mr Andrew Jones artwork in your photoshop paintovers. You are infringing on the copyrights of others and it must stop.

    Thank you,

    Jason Manley

    It never ends.
    Did you get a response?

My favourite part is that he made a pencil sketch of it first to try to make it his. What a pile of shit.

It makes me mad reading about this stuff, it's ridiculous. I feel bad for any artist that get's their work plagiarized like this. To think that someone out there might be making money and getting jobs on the hard work that you did...so frustrating.

All of you are better than me. I wouldn't waste time sitting around, tapping keys and sending letters. If this fool has a posted place of residence or employment, plane, train, or automobile, Imma have to ride to go see him. The boldness of the act begs a double drop kick planted in the sternum as soon as the front door opens to start off a lovely day of festivities....

    No response.

In situations like this there are usually a few responses. The question is which it will be. An immediate removal from their site and a personal apology would be smart, but is rare. If they don't respond they will get another letter with a deadline to remove the content and make a public statement on their site from legal here. As they are clearly business savvy and unscrupulous, they will probably take a day or two just to figure out what to do about the serious problem. People's entire careers can go in the toilet for this kind of garbage. His own as an artist will never be legitimate and he cut himself off from the entertainment biz here who sees this.

For any who consider doing such things...If it were just a concept...which happens for internal use only stuff from time to time in this business...then it should never be shown and whatever gets made must NOT be substantially similar in any way.

All in all this is a bad move but that Picard image made dealing with it worth it. Thanks for the laugh.
