Whoa, you really should shrink down the stuff you posted in posts #32 and #34.
Those new studies look really nice, especially the animals.
@Psychotime: Thank you!! And i've shrinked it down now, i'll be sure to remember it in the future!![]()

I'm TERRIBLE at colouring and rendering, so i'm trying to do some practises from CTRLpaint .. the fourth one I just wanted to play/warm up, but I dont know if its useless or good. I need to study a lot of colourthingies aswell, im just bad at it haha. Those from ctrlpaint there pretty funny/challenging though, I want to do more of them! I marked my attempts for blue and orange.
also here's 2 creatures I drew. I want to colour them but not sure how yet.

Great stuff in here man I love the color sheet you have there coloring is a major weak area for myself but reading James Gurneys book Color and Light is a really good help! You also could try the work in grey scale first then move to color. Goodluck and keep up the great work!
Your characters are dynamic and the coloring isn't as bad as you're saying.Pretty solid stuff in my opinion!
@Undeadartist: Thanks! I'll diff look that book up, I have such big problems with colouring haha. I'll try that greyscale!
@Kriss_Kringle: Aw, thanks!
Here's more colour practise.. eugh,
the dog thingy took around 30 min I think. I really need to do a lot of studies!
edit: forgot to add this quick dog study

Short update! Christmas has been stole my time, but here are some studies.
My sketchbook http://conceptart.org/forums/sketchb...ketchbook.html
Really good studies. I like your line work.
I love how clean your sketches are, they're so fluid as well. Are you sketching in shadow shapes too, or are you just feeling out the form?
Anyways, really nice job so far, sorry I don't have anything useful to contribute.
@vlad74: Thanks!
@Ambiguity: I haven't tried shadow shaping much, mostly I just start with the head and give it a skeleton, continueing from there. And thank you!![]()

IdaS from Facepunch forums?(ZitaX here from Facepunch).
I really like your pose studies! It's a very important study that will really help in the long run! Keep doing them!
Atm, I think that you need to work a but on color and values to really improve your work! Just my opinion tho.
Yep, that 's me. Nice to see you on here aswell ZitaX!
Thanks for the compliments! and you're right, I really do need to work on color and value. It's what I struggle with the most, but that's going to change.![]()

Very cool sketchbook!
I like the loose line of yours in particular, it gives those sketches some life, which is very cool.
Stars from me!
@Icecold: !! Thank you so much! Made my day
Here is todays update.. I'm so very bad at landscapes so I tried to do some studies in artrage, but I think ill stick to photoshop. I think I have to do a looooot of landscapes in the next months, Ill try do 1-2 each day!
There's also the daily 45 sec gesture drawing, this time with big cats
And some studies of arms and hands!

Fantastic line work! I think you're heading in the right direction with the studies, but don't lean on your ability to draw up some nice lines to much. Throw in some hardcore value studies to help push out more. The color pieces tend to fall flat, even though the color choices are fairly nice.
As for landscapes, here's one link that will change your life for better, forever ;]

Sorry! I haven't been able to draw for the last 3 days, been busy and such. So I sadly don't have much to upload today!
@{CKL}: Thanks for the compliments! And i'll be sure to do some hardcore value studies, I must!
@Icecold: Thank you so much for showing me that! That's quite amazing! I tried to watch his videos today, and I tried to study something next to it. I will try to finish it tomorrow.
Here is the attempt and the usual 45 secs!

Looks like you have a good sense of form already! I second what's been mentioned before, doing some grayscale value studies and renderings will definitely help you to learn coloring too, since there's less to worry about all at once (don't have to worry about confusing wrong values for wrong colors). Learning about both and doing more and more color studies as you go along I think is totally doable, just keep on drawing.![]()
@ yochanan: Thanks! I'll be sure to!
Btw, do any of you know a great site with pictures for value studies?
My sketchbook http://conceptart.org/forums/sketchb...ketchbook.html
I struggled a lot with the landscape picture and eventually I got pissy and gave up, I'll try a different and more brighter landscape tomorrow!
But here are some anatomy studies and I tried to study value in some skulls. I got lazy on the lynx tho.. ><
