What is the true value of a painting?, it is not it's price but the light it takes to create it

Wow, dude, great sign work! It's the first time I've seen any work like that on here and am blown away by it all.
@ Velocity: 1) Thanks, very much! I do what I can. I've realized as I struggle with the fluidity of the digital medium that I'm more of a draftsman than a painter in some respects, and I miss the connective nature of feeling a medium on my fingers. I want to have a "touch" tablet that doesn't require the stylus. I'm sure that a Cintiq could do that... but I digress. 2) I don't know what "graf," is, so I'm thinking that's a no. Sorry for the very tardy reply.
@Mr. Najmul & Frenik: Thanks! It's much appreciated. I work in the back room of a grocery store right next to boxes of bananas, so I don't usually get feedback on what I do. This is a tiny neighborhood "experiment" a local grocery chain is doing here in Utah. Still, to be a concept artist/illustrator. Since I'm working for peanuts now I wouldn't mind doing the same to paint necromancers or hulking robots. Again, I digress.
Don't think I posted these here. Just to prove I do sketch from time to time, though I think these are a couple of years old at this point... And I apologize for the weird "lightness" of these. Don't remember them looking that way before...

Can't remember if I posted these... but there are more on the way... need to get back to paintin'!
Guy in our store posed for a leprechaun portrait...
An irresistible Adam and Eve sign that still hasn't seen the light of day...
Self-explanatory (maybe)

Gift Card Mall signage (Summer)
Not only did I come up w/ the sign below, but I had to conjure that awesome schpiel after looking at the website. The chef (despite being award-winning, etc.) was no help.
Hawaiian Fish sign details
Halloween signage

Some very cool sketches, and some damn good signage.
Great thread. I'll be back for more looks.

Promise this is the last of the old sketches. I'm going to try to post something new here every day, whether it's good or not is another story...

Gah... Need to work on mah colors... Ack... Did a bit o' color sampling from the ref to expedite this before Christmas, but realized just how little "color realism" I'm able to do... I'll have to do those famous color studies from movie stills

Something I'm semi-proud of (hence the indulgent photo-taking). Did it on vacation in Cali.
Post-apocalyptic Santa... I listened to ZZ Top for inspiration...

I like your paintings very much. Is it acrylics on gessoed board?
I really love your work, there something I find really appealing about them. I wish I could say more, or at least offer some kind of critique or something. Well anyway awesome work overall I hope to see some more from you.![]()

Your work is beautiful and I can't get enough of the signage! Are you using a soft pastel for those?
Man... I find that my pencil technique is reaaaaaaaaaaalll messy. I'm usually relatively happy with some of my sketchery until it finds its way into a scanner. I want to be as good as some o' the moleskine greats I've seen.

Underrrrrrr the Sea...
Details in sequence because of the size of the above picture...
