hi all.I've discovered C.A.org for some time now and iam amazed about the stuff going on here.I am 21 my name is jim and i want to get better at art&drawing.I have no formal trainning and for 2-3 months now ive been busy studying art ,drawing and all that good stuff.However this is not a good time to keep a sketchbook because i will be busy fullfilling my army duties (in greece its a must to go to the army cant do otherwise) but in any free time i ll try to post something if i can.Cheers you guys!!!!

these are some of my sketches and studies.I am reading how to draw what you see (rudy de reyna), i was reading loomis for the heads but i realised that i coudnt give solidity and gave it up for a while.I then red about perspective from d'amelios book and rudys book now provides some foundation i suppose i got better i have a sense for 3d form now (i guess )Please any thoughts,critiques and comments are more than welcome!

Hey! Keep on doing those heads studies, they're ver helpful.
I like the drawing of the sculpture girl. It would really help you more if you did observational drawings from real life instead of pictures though.

Redrawn the sculpt girl (its really hard with all that shading and stuff ) and did some more head studies from michaels hamptons book wich is awesome btw
need wayyyyy more practise anyway ,any crits thoughts comments are usefull.
Coudnt do much , iam sick and half day in bed !!!argggggghhhh its a crappy day 2day

did some animal drawing trying to see the geometry behind the model
the scanner is crappy and i have to tweak the pics in photoshop i ll see what i can do about it (the amazonian horned frog RULES).Will update soon

i see you are working through bettey edwards (knew i recognised dem profiles!) which is a great starting book dude,i read it myself. Try looking for some andrew loomis books online (as pdfs) he talks about imagining every object as a 3d one surround by a box or cube shape- this might help!
