    Remember when reagan was shot?

Remember when you had 13 stations on your TV and to get more you had to use the second knob that had to be tuned in like a radio receiver?

Remember when the only profanity you knew was "Oh snap!"

Remember when you played outside and your only weapon in cowboys and indians was a 'Y' shaped stick that became a gun?

Remember when MTV was new and video was referred to only on news shows?

Do you remember the feel of corduroy and the noise that those damn pants made when you walked?

Remember when going out to eat and eating INSIDE the place was a big deal?

Remember when drive-ins were the BEST forms of entertainment to go see while in your car and you'd sneak food in and STILL go to the concession stands to get snacks, and play on the swings in the playground?

Remember when B&W tv was all you had and you were happy?

Remember learning how to type in highschool on a TYPE WRITER?

    Remember c: \ ,,8,1

Cartoon Network is having it's 20th anniversary.

I remember playing Minesweeper and Ski Free on a Packard Bell that ran Windows 3.1.

I still can't beat a single round of Minesweeper.

EDIT: Ok, I looked it up, and now I finally get how this stupid game works and beat one round. The instructions said one thing and I confused it with another. I'm not sure about anyone else, but for the longest time I was always confused as to what the numbers stood for. What it ACTUALLY means is how many mines are adjacent to that spot, and once you know that, you can play the stupid thing by process of elimination.

The instructions made me think that a number signified that all potential mines are X squares away from the spot, and that's why I could never win.

When I started smoking, you could get a decent pack for R10.
    The cheap shit was R5.

Now an average box costs over R30!!!!!

Good thing I don't smoke anymore.

I saw these videos (and have been to these things )of these "harcore" and "post-hardcore" bands and the new favorite ... "ambient hard core" bands at these "shows" ... when did it become uncool to say 'concert' ? anyways, idk what qualifies as old, i'm pretty sure i'm not old by some of your standards... but I heard and saw a alot of use of the phrase... "crab-core" and "windwill" and stuff so asinine ... I guess this is just one ''scene" of the younger crowd... but idk... My point is for all you "old" people...
you're not (we're not) missing out.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nkUefHS5Cs

notice that lindy-hop esque ...running in place motion, i find this motion to be particularly.... ... .. . <- and hey I like their music oddly enough. I just love these fads. I think they try to get their nuts to touch the floor.

this stuff is considered like REALLY REALLY fucking cool by some people... so it is bloody relative is all I'm saying. I'm not going after a group or nothin'
just these motions and OH i have a slew of funny "moshing" gifs ... I want to post those...

    anyway... just look...

THE EPITOME OF WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY

    and it'll happen to youuuuuu

Urban Dictionary helps me keep up... .. like OAG and... YOLO... and... uh... TLDR? and TIL ... god i hate TIL .... Today I Learned.... bleckh

my main gripe s the moshing... and I'm receiving word that it is not cool to say "mosh" anymore... something like dancing or some shit... idk

I've had youngsters give me funny looks when I explain to them that actual computer software used to be distributed on those, and that the loading process involved pressing play then holding your breath, crossing your fingers while listening to 4 minutes of atonal screeching.

Most look equally disbelieving if you explain that the above image is what most pirated music looked like until the mid 90s.

    Ho hum.

Edit: other things that make me feel old..

-200 tv channels. When I were a lad we had..3? and they all stopped around midnight.
-Remastered anniversary rereleases of things I bought when I was 18..
    -
-Music I grew up with is now "classic rock".
I have this surreal vision of a nursing home full of heavily tattooed ancients nostalgically remniscing about Nine Inch Nails "Downward Spiral", Ministry "Psalm 69" and other "proper music with a tune you can hum along to"..
-I know how to light a coal fire and I have seen a car with the spinny starting handle.

Getting old is crazy weird. I clearly recall a conversation with a fan of sci fi cinema who told me he'd never seen "Aliens". I was ready to go off on one, then I realised it was in cinemas about 5 years before he was born..

It's gonna be awesome to hear an "oldies" station play something like DMX. Just juxtapose your usual oldies station bumper to precede this song.

The Professor from "Gilligan's Island" has aged, and so shall I. . .

He's still alive, in his late 80s out here in the Seattle area, out on Bainbridge Island.

Man, would love to make a pilgrimage. . . but don't want to piss the guy off!
