    Eric Quigley's stuff/early portfolio

Hey guys, I'm Eric Quigley and I want to work in the illustration and video game industry(industries). Right now I'm sort of "building" my portfolio up and I thought I might as well see what kind of feedback I can receive here.

Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from some of you. Please feel free to comment on anything and about anything.

    great work.

I like the charakter paintings best, great value. Your environments are good in concept but are missing something, I think a stronger foreground would do the trick.

    Peace

Great portfolio! I especially love the first two pieces.
One crit I could give you is the first character's finger seem a bit too thin for a creature of such a build.

    Great stuff, Quig!

I don't yet have the courage to post on the FF forums.

Also, I feel like the last character pic you just put up has something funny going on with the values. The darks seem REALLY dark. Maybe it's just my monitor, but I can't even really see the side of his face that is on shadow.

But the texture on the rocky portion of that environment looks excellent! Much better than the rocks in some of your other stuff!

Damn, it seems like you've really levelled up since the last time I looked at your sketchbook.
The last character doesn't immediately read as sitting, took a couple of views to get it.

All very good pieces but i would like to see more color pieces... Practice in color would make the color pieces you do have look much better.

Hey, I enjoy checking back in your thread and I wish the updates were more frequent!

I dig the two new works, and I can see you are heading in a surely upwards direction with every piece.

For some reason I think you would really rock a sweet battlefield picture with a multitude of characters and complicated composition. That would really solidy your portfolio and bring the message home!
I think your style would work great for a muddy medieval battlefield. Just an idea..
