Giving critique is difficult...
[ste] - I really like your idea! I can't make up my mind about where his faith belongs, but that doesn't matter much I suppose, as I still feel the faith. His torso feels a bit flat to me, and I think his staff thing could give more to the picture if it was thicker. Now it looks like it would break if he used it, considering that he looks real tough.
Sentinel. - Uhh. So pretty. And the colours. My first thought about this was much the same as the critique you got before, that it lacked both a post apocalypse feeling as well as the paladin feeling. I now feel that you got at least the first part of that. And, I suppose, the second too. Lovely.
Chiselgrind - I like that you seem to be going towards something more low-key than the avarage shoulderpad paladin. I wouldn't add too much gadgets, though, as I feel that his overall attitude would lose its minimalistic "ka-pow" if you drown it in things. As for the posture, I think it's because he turns his torso a lot in his step, like a slightly corny cowboy.
Keredith - While I think it's better than your first one, I think this new one looks very stiff and compact, as if someone wrapped a length of rope around her tightly. This, together with that her face and eyes appear flat, makes her look more like a plastic doll than a human being. Also, I feel she's more of a medic than a paladin. Her gadgets are nice, though!
Dolleater - Hah. I really liked your bearded man, but I can agree with you that this picture has more of a "flow in it". It did, however, lose the holy feeling your first one had - as you said yourself. I see post apocalypse in this, but no paladin. There's more of a "Cool, I found a cross on the street and hung it on my pistol". I think that, perhaps, it'd go more "Holy warrior" instead of looking more like and antagonist if you ditched the more comical parts of his design. Bare belly and hat and so on.
Hampy - He must be darn strong to be able to do that in that armour. The power of God, perhaps? I think this picture really needs some sort of context if you want to get your point across, because he's neither paladin nor in a post apocalyptic world yet. Confusing.
samsonite - I like the almost macabre humour in this one, and I also like it better than your first one. This one is still a bit stiff, however - he is moving but I see little movement in the picture. He's completely straight, even if he's carrying an evidently heavy weapon - while walking, mind. More of a robot than a living thing. But.. then again, perhaps he is? I can't tell with that mask...face...mask...thing.
greyskill - I hate saying this, as I'm not one for shoulder pads, but I think you should make his slightly bigger. As it is now, I think it makes the area around it look small. I love- the yield sign. Fantastic.
Partisan - Another brilliant use of signs. His shield over all is very nice. Good job. Neither do I think the colours look wrong. I love the light! I think his legs are a little awkward, though. I don't know what it is, but I'm not really grasping what's happening there. It looks cool with those ice-hockey-goalie-leg-protection-like things, but would he be able to walk like that with them?
Steelsih - So very you. ; ) It's a bit messy and I think the background steals some of the attention, but it's a really nice picture. He has his monkey's face.
Disting - I like did it better when it didn't have hair! You should work on his posture. He looks a bit crooked. Also, that oxygen tank on his back should be heavy, right? I feel like he should be falling backwards as he stands there, carrying that thing.
TheKanapka - I'm glad you chose the one with hair. How is the sign on her arm attached? It if it's attached with that arm band, shouldn't it cover more of the arm? I like where it's going. : )
Good job, everyone! Hang in there.
You guys are rocking it! So many cool ideas going around.
Man, I gotta give my hand a break.![]()

Thanks to my sloppy planning i ended up with 3 different choices. Any suggestion on which one i should take further?

See the TURTLE of enormous girth!
On his shell he holds the earth.
His thought is slow but always kind;
He holds us all within his mind.
Mino: thanks for the critiqueI will give it a shoot at armoring him up, and I'm looking forward to see more on your picture ^^
Last update for today; gave him some new stuff![]()
Gorgoleon the third
so here is a tiny little update as I am taking a break for now, tweaked the colours a little, fixed the background and added little details all over the place ^^
and figured out that his story will be that he once decided to guard a single well preserved building and turned it into a safe spot for the weak and helpless, the lamp on his shoulder gave him his nickname "red lamp" its so that he can see in darkness and also its a sign for all those who look out for shelter like a lighthouse in the dark.

I'm not sure that 10-year-old-girl face is working for your holy warrior. It doesn't say "paladin" so much as "Pokemon trainer". I can see approaching the brief from a different angle but this just seems very generic and doesn't mesh well with the brief. Something a bit more like Akira or Trigun would probably fit better.

I like the first one best as it breathes holy in my face, but the last one has more, uh, awesome (?) crammed into it. I mean... is that a radiator he has on his arm? How badass isn't that. I'm not very hot on the middle one. (Ha. Ha. Ha...)
ikuru - I think you should make his chest more pronounced. He is a slim man, yes, but his chest should probably be bulging out anyway as it is... you know... a chest. Also, his shoulder pads could use a bit more "roundness" to them. They look a bit "two and a half dimensional" now. Hm. So, basically, summing it up, his "armour" (is it plastic?) looks flat. I would like to see a more determined grip of the hammer too. If you're going to smash the head of a demon, your grip isn't flaccid. Other than that - nice!
As for the frog. No. A rat totally deserves it more. ; )
Partisan, that guy is looking amazing. Once that red light started glowing it really made the picture for me.
Gorgoleon, I like the first one myself. Just get the post apoc theme into it and you have a rugged man of justice. The middle one is ok, but less original, and the last one is really ossum, but less focused on the character himself. Maybe take the first one, and give it a background similar to the second one? Make it look like the guy is all "Oh hey, there's a fire there, I didn't notice..." LawL
Rotor Can't wait for colors mate!!!
Small update, a little more rendering, a couple more details, a few fixes.

Almost-colours!

Thanks for the crits Dread reaper, ive been working on the picture some today. Did think about the pose, trying to get it right. He is purging them from evil with his divine grip! Like your creation Rotorawesome pose. Keep on working everyone going to be an epic final!
Thanks for the feedback Mino, tried to beef up staff a bit, still not sure what I want to do with it. Think I need to look at something else for a while.

Good goin everyone.
Goddammit you're not helping. I'm not supposed to be doing this let alone finish it in time, damn you.
Urgh... the flesh is weak.
I ditched the bottlecap mail (best choice in life I ever made) and I don't think I can cram a vintage fridge door in there as a shield either...
I'm way off my beaten path here, what with all the obvious christianity and testosterone. I will take any advise you have.
By the way you guys are killing me. In a good way. Especially the Mad Max nuns; they're more like an Inquisition of sorts! Hide your bastard kids, hide your same-sex fornication partner...

Another update. Chain mail still needs work.

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you liked the yield sign.
It fit so well and I liked having the command emblazoned on his chestplate.
Thanks for pointing out that shoulder pad thing.
I moved the shoulder pad out a bit to make more room for his shoulder and upper arm.
Tell me if you think it looks better.
Here is another wip...
I blinged him out a bit.
I think when you are on the move and there is a lot of free stuff after the apocalypse
it must be hard to balance the want for things and the need to stay light. I hope that I struck that balance sorta..

Very basic pose for my entry... still a looooong way to go, but better getting critics at this stage than later on, I guess!![]()

My version. I love the theme.
Lose it. It means, Go crazy. Nuts. Insane. Bonzo. No longer in possession of one's faculties. Three fries short of a Happy Meal. Wacko.
@Partisan - For some bizarre reason, the shadows on his shield are just blowing my mind. That is all.
@Gorgoleon - I love the first one, but it's reading more as a priest/cleric type than a paladin to me. The third one is probably the most paladin-esque.
@NoobConcept - The pose is pretty good, but the legs're a bit unbalanced - the upper body is turned diagonal, but the feet are on a straight line. You could move the bent leg back a tad?
OKAY SO here's an update with at least 30% more apocalypse.
Ah, what the hell, I couldn´t stay out of this oneAwesome topic.
Started out with the color theme first on this one.
Haven´t had the time to look through the whole thread yet, but hopefully I´ll make some constructive crit along the way.
