I figure I've lurked around here long enough, time to get busy.

    Here's a recent one, 'Gondola':

Saw your workshop in IFX and was impressed by your method, and of course your results. Your work seems full of character and depth, really nice.

    Wow I love it.

Somehow it reminds me of the movie "Waterworld" - except this is taking place in the sky.
This ain't bad, since I really loved Waterworld for many years. I watched it so much on tape, the tape eventually broke! Bummer.

But I really think it's awesome, and I'd like to see more from you.

    a few more...

Thanks for the comments, always welcome. Waterworld, you say? Never seen it, I was put off by the critical mauling it got. Might have to have a look now, thanks Bering!

    I'm in raptures..

Ian, you're one of those rare things.... lightning in a bottle
    fresh imagination plus skillful execution,

I wouldn't tarnish this great work with the Waterworld tag, (which is itself trying to be an aquatic Mad Max) - its totally its own thing

Amazing. There are so many stories to be told in these images. And the depth, color, and lighting are fantastic. Thanks for sharing these. I could stare at them for hours.

I like the first one the best. The contrast between the in focus floating ship, and the one behind it, is awesome.

These are amazing; I love the cobbled together look of everything.

And yet they still look so clean and graphic...

Brilliant work! I love the world that you've created in these images, very inspirational. I could definitely see a role-playing game being spawned from this imagery. Excellent.

    Cheers folks, much appreciated.

Vahn, dpaint - the current issue of ImagineFX features a workshop showing my process. It's available in Europe now, next month in the US (I think):

Also, there's a video grab of an ipad sketch over on my blog which is fairly basic, but you get the idea:

    Thanks again.

Great stuff! Really impressive - I'll be picking up IFX #68 for sure and checking out your blog. Looks like a guy could do pretty well in this world if he was a decent mechanic and had some welding skills!
