Thanks Hitsu! I've been doing well. My wife gave birth to our daughter several weeks ago, so it's been pretty busy lately.
Here are some more character thumbnails for Ephocolypse.

Congratulations man! That's a great news!
Let us see more of your stuff!
Hitsu: Thanks
Here are some character roughs. After getting a better understanding of how to utilize storytelling I'm going to have to repose / repaint this character, so I thought I would just show the progress and not spend more time cleaning these ones up.

Nice bud, you sure are improving your skills big time in here!
Oh, really nice! I really like most of them, especially some of the newest! Keep going on like that!
Hitsu//San: Thank you! I've been trying to push, I'm happy it's starting to show.
ChocolateCookie: Thank you! I will
Here is a sci fi speedpaint. Messing around with lasso and gradient tools.

Big improvements since the begging of this thread- keep up the good work!
I'd echo what Aether said, the difference between the start of the thread and now is just stunning. Wonderful work.
Aether Technician: Thankyou! I'm happy my hard work is starting to show.
steveOBHave: Thanks! I'll keep posting
Here is a personal environment concept for my portfolio. Had fun trying to push this one.

These are good..the first ones are producing a light effect, that looks really good!
And progress is very clear in your latter sketches!
keep it up!
Check your values bud, look at it in black and white!
kaushalsingh: Thanks! I enjoy trying to make cool light effects.
Hitsu: I make adjustment layers with 0 saturation to check my values all the way through the piece. What is bothering you about this one?
Well the 3 structures at the center of the horizon lines and the rocks in the foreground mostly have the same values (i'm not checking, probably they have a slight difference but is not enough). You can do better man, don't be afraid of changing stuff around!
Hitsu: Sorry man, I disagree with you on this point. I think my values are working just fine. I've checked them even after you said something by flattening the whole image into 5 values and the shapes still hold.
Here are some concepts that I did last year, but haven't been able to post them until now. It was a class project that we pitched to Valve for their game Team Fortress 2. We all had to design a main weapon, a secondary weapon, and a vanity item.

I've started a sketch series. During my lunch break and between freelance I'm spending 30 minutes to 2 hours sketching. I'm focusing on improving my design and experimenting with process. Here are a bunch of Lunch Sketches in order of completion thus far.

Here is the final. "Communion" Trisha Carn is a main character in the story "Epocholypse". She is a sorceress who is blessed by the light and cursed by the dark.

Wow. Really nice work and progression through this thread!
Dude! You rock...... fantastic progression and this last piece is just superb. If you ever produce a poster of it please PM me. I will buy.
Nice mani will remove the foliage to the right anyway, is getting in the way of your illustration and there's not need of them cause it's overall pretty balanced the same!
cfhd: Thanks
Waipunga: Thank you much! Your kind words are motivating
Hitsu: Thanks! Yea I thought about that. I kind of like the depth it adds to the piece. Almost gives it a sense of voyeurism.
Here are a bunch of movie screen shot studies I've been doing to up the cinematic quality of my compositions, color, and lighting. Hopefully some of it will sink into my work. Each study is 1 hour. Can you guess the movies?

It's really cool to see how you have grown from the first pictures as I get a better feel from the latest posts. They're more focused and have more realistic but still stylistic faces. Well done!
