finishedd.
finishedd.
My brain is having a hard time filling in the rest of the fingers in the shadow of that last guy, they look a bit amputated. He's still WIP though so that's understandable.
Those cherries look nice and juicy, but the green stem on the right is a little flat, but I'm guessing that's not what you were working on in this study. You obviously understand quite a bit about form though so it's not like that's a real concern.

Your latest image that posted in the critique section was good but your focus on the character design has made you forget about your values. I did sort of a lame paint over to show that your values were way to close together and that they didn't read as well as they should of. Value seperation is key, so an easy way to check your values is to create a black and white and turn it on and off to check. If you found this helpful great but if you don't care and believe I messed it up then I'm sorry. ^_^
Great work as always and have a nice day.
ugh im have monitor calibration issues. i have two monitors at home, and my laptop always makes the colors die. so im not sure which is wrong. ive gone to calb sites but im just so unsure.
out a new work process.
Not calling it finished yet, but im really happy with it right now.
as you noticed Capt surge, values are my weakest.
so i wasnt so sure if i wanted to give this one a lighter sky as well, but i wanted her to be really scary, witchy.
Thank s for the help I might play around with a lighter sky, might help with the happier version concept.
ambi:
thanks! Hands are what im tackling right now. esp mens.
next time ill upload some studies of hands.
Yeah, i ignored the stems. ahah.
this one is so shitty,
maybe i can get some advice on my mistakes?

I actually didn't think the background on the Asian girl WIP was that bad, the light value paint over kind of ruins the mood I think you were going for in my opinion. Values aren't the only way to show depth anyway, saturation and detail/sharpness also contribute. It's not like my eyes are having a hard time focusing with the way it is now anyway, they jump straight to her face, which I'd think you'd want being that it's a portrait crop.
almost forgot this one.

finished "4 Blocks down"
sucker punch study
character designs. Three soliders from the same group.
You have the sentinel charmingly named "Bulk" The limber flashy assassin/thief She's quick witted and fast. and the Leader (who is still just a sketch, pretty poor sketch.) But he outfit will be the most reasonable. a good mix between the two, light but always has enough on her. short hair bold face her outfit leans more towards modern day infantry men. middle girl is more knight, and the bulk is a little knight in the face armor and shoes, but all infantry man.
This was really difficult around four hours.
No color dropping from the ref at all! destroying crutches one at a time!
also no colordropping.
one third ref, two thirds mind!~
Even though its signed its not done yet. Still going to work on her burns
Princess of lilies. wip
I feel like im getting a little better.
maybe.
I do believe you are getting better. the seventh one from #67 is just awesome!
I'm happpy

Trust me, trust no one.
revenge is a dish best served bloody.
This is fan-fucking-tastic. Only suggestion is to work more on males.
Your sketches in #66 are nice, and I can tell by those numbered hands that you're working pretty hard! Your painting technique has also improved since the first page. Nice job!
