Those environments are brilliant, very dynamic and engaging.
Love those environments Dile, and I mean LOVE them... nothing for me to crit really, other than perhaps work a little more on getting a strong sense of perspective. As others have said, The mid-ground could do with a bit more solidity, and sometimes throwing in a clear suggestion of a vanishing point in the distance can really help. Anyway, congratulations on this one because its excellent.

The EOW piece...stunning, ridiculously good!
Nice work on the greyscale pieces. Nice touch to add di Caprio in there![]()

I really think that third painting is missing something. Maybe if you are lacking ideas, try some PURPLE lightning

Heres a bunch of stuff.. I can't even explain how much art i've done lately. But anyway, I should let my art in 2-3 months (or so) speak for that, and not those boring words
I usually don't draw horses. Was fun :] will do more. I did some horse studies too..but they are on paper : ( I will make some digital too, just to show how fun it is to draw horsesMy new guilty pleasure.
I need to simplify shapes more and do more thumbnails..This was a good way to find out how NOT to do it
Rapoza study, very different, very fun

Great updates man.
Here is something, not particularly detailed. But perhaps useful to someone out there.... D: These are some of the things I think of when I paint environments and an easy "check list" (even though my rough speedpaint didn't really cut it) to have...kinda

Mjam mjam, delicious art
My environments look so shitty compared to your stuff.
It's awesome how much you improved since we talked (if you remember my old nick: Silwynar)
I would ask you to teach me again, but with this awesome stuff it seems like you're really busy with getting kickass, hehe.
Keep it up dude.
Sooo good ~
I love the fact there's a real sense with your later stuff in this sketchbook of certain lights going on in the artistic brain... the fact you're thinking about all those aspects in that last post is quite astonishing! Your environment designs are pretty cool. If I had to crit anything, I'd say from here on in, you might want to start really thinking about some of the smaller brush strokes you make, and the subconscious way they are reading. An example might be the the highlight on the shield of the guys on horseback in the fantasy piece on this page - likewise the highlight on the statue in the upper right - both marks seem to be made more to be fast that actually thinking about the shape they are describing. With a little more thought for that, you'd definitely be taking your work into that uber-awesome level that you see a lot of the pros have, as your basics are pretty solid at this point.
An inspiring sketchbook, at any rate!
whoa really nice work, the environments with the people in them look really good. Also thanks for the environment steps checklist, I haven't done many yet, but this could be useful for when I get into them.
post it allll. clog awayyyyyyy. this business right here looks sick as hell, man.
My question is, did you paint over the original, eyedropping and repainting on top, or how was it more precisely?
Thanks for sharing with us![]()
You nailed that Rapoza study. First thing I thought when scrolling up was. Whoa... Rapoza! And you did
The last post showing what you analyze in a pic is a good thing, too. Good work.

some stuff from today. Thanks for the Critique zephyri! I really appreciate it (as you know!) I found myself through both these paintings, wanting to put down small, and , when kinda thinking more conciously about it, very harsh, lines or details that didn't really make senseI will keep that close to my concious thoughts and internalize it. Again, thanks for the crit!

nice sketchbook dude ! Probably one of the best updated sketchbook ! keep it up !!
Nice updates Dile. I'm really digging the top left sketch of that bunch, but I do like where you took your next illustration to. There's a nice style in there, the way you set down the edges and moves of your brush.
The girl looks a little flat, stuck on the canvas though. Just a thought, if I may share.
Keep up the good work!
nice to see you soo much work =) and dont worry about clogging the thread, we love it that way =p
Great stuff you got here!!
I didn´t like so much some of your textures, otherwise everything is great!
Keep it up!

Sorry for the lack of replies&updates. I spent all day working on this one yesterday... and woke up to the tips & live paint over of this painting from a very talanted artist who's currently doing work for disney! Which definitely brought a lot of the FUN back into it. I hate licking on my paintings, which was most of what I did yesterday D: Anyways......
now its study time!I also started a bunch of other things yesterday, i\ll post them once i've brushed up on them a bit haha.
Thanks to everyone for their support! I'll get around to return the favor asap.

So great, but for sure my favorite so far is the digital 'sketch' at the top of this page.
