    XP intuos4 problem (fixed)

I'm normally a great technical person but this is really stumping me below is a lot of information about my problem.

what doesn't help this issue is that I don't have admin rights on this computer at tafe (kind of like college) which makes this quite annoying having to ask lecturers several times for them to log in and such.
I will probably have it all sorted on monday but just in case it doesn't work what else can I do?

    What I have done:
    Updated from 6.1.2 to 6.1.6-7
    Uninstalling 6.1.6-7 and then reinstalling
Unplugging and replugging, trying different usb ports
Restarting programs, leaving it unplugged until I start the program,
Used another computer where someone’s intuos 3 worked

All that works: pen mapping (moves like a normal tablet pen), side buttons (with the overlay even) and circular thumbpad, and all functions are detected in the wacom property diagnose mode

What doesn’t work: pressure, tilt and eraser detection.

Possible conflicts: drivers too new (need to downgrade to 615-3a?), bamboo drivers, registry entries or old drivers in device manager

System specs: Windows XP Service pack 3, intel core i7 930, 3.24 GB of ram, nvidia GTS 250, intuos4 tablet

    Please help me.

Edit: issue was resolved by uninstalling 6.17 and going back to 6.15

Check out this thread. Seems that that version of driver has issues.
