Superman in his childhood and adulthood brought up plenty of
time his question of existence, and why does he do what he does.
His father was telling him that it’s for the well being of a human kind,
and for the improvement of the subliminal crime. Often he was sitting
naked on the cold bathroom floor, thinking about his demons and his
unbelievable strength. No one was giving him enough credits for his
deeds, no one was ever kissed him beyond his cheek. But then at
some point, after the big Parisian burglary, in his life a big change
happened. Out from nowhere. Some teen girls opened up toward him,
mentally and physically, they treated him very well. His life gained
a new meaning from that point, as the slippery grip has been dipped
really deep, water came on his mouth. Silent whispers of erotic endeavor.
His cape became stained and sticky again. Not to mention Lois Lane’s
cheeks. She did wonders for him. There is always a purpose, always a
price, a price which is worth paying. Do art, do art as much as you
can, cause sometimes that’s the only reasonable thing to do.
Be brave and bold. Follow that red gory meaty muscled thing
that beats beyond your ribs, capture firmly in your heroic chest.

The Christmas card comment wasn't meant to be hurtful. It was to show you although it isn't perfect, it still has some merit. I keep meaning to make my own one year, but always run out of time.

I like the picture of you hard at work drawing. Nothing wrong with vampire cows, actually that could make a great comic.

Ha ha ha dont you worry your pretty liittle head missy!! I aint worried in the slightest.

I didnt mean to come accross as all hurt and offended if indeed I did (I thought I was being an idiot again!), I was glad that you took the time to make the comment, indeed I am glad of all comments and crits that I get. I take them and weigh them against what I was trying to do and what I see in it. Quite often I try to put something in there and I inadvertantly put something else out there instead its good to get feedback on what others get out of it.
You were right about the clouds though on reflection and I will do a dark and brooding sky soon, it will be interesting and should alter the light values all over the image, should be good to try that.

anyway the bottom line is say what you like about my images as it helps me understand! and dont worry about any hurt feelings ok! it never happens. Thank you for your patience and all your comments I appreciate it all, thanks again and all the very best to you.

Some good stuff in here, I liked looking through. Especially liked going through the various conversations you had with different people. This is the way I would always envision a sketchbook, a thread with conversations, a kind of to-and-fro, if you will.

As for the art, I like the way you handled the image. You differed from the original, and gave it a cool, almost friendly vibe. I enjoyed that. I will say, however, that the one thing I find in the original is the bold use of values. He used broad brushstrokes, and applied them with a lot of intent. Also, look at the way he has played around with the warms and cools by adding a tinge of purple to the blues. Snow is barely ever monochromatic, because it provides for quite the reflective surface. Photographs don't capture it well, but have a look at this: http://www.en.images-en-somme.fr/pho...ture-bench.jpg

Keep updating, and conversing with people. It was a pleasure dropping by.

I have enjoyed your sketchbook and learned a bit looking at the beginning pages.

I've also used that reference you posted of the girl in armor (post #8) for myself
in practice and posted on my sketchbook...(referring to your reference of course).

    So thanks and keep posting.

Wow New Visitors! Cool!! as the younger generation say.

Ha ha ha ha nice to see you guys and I am glad you seemed to like what you see in here.

Vritra - you raise some good points, I dont like just copying an image I like to try and put my own spin on things iif I can, as I get more out of it that way. Well thats what I feel anyway. Though I have on occasion slaved away at a picvture and tried to do a direct copy, sometimes I just cant see how it was done and have to try myself, and fail usually but hey, its all learning.
The conversations I have in here and in other sketchbooks are one of the main reasons that I hang around this forum, there is a real community feel to the place and I know that some or even most of my freinds feel the same way about this forum. but there are people who can get a bit high and mighty and enjoy a good put down, But honestly most of the folks in here are delighted to help you out and give some feedback, and yes if you are being a bit thick it needs to be harsh to get in side your head, well it does me anyhow.
Thanks for stopping by its much appreciated.
wannabeanimator - No problem at all matey in fact if you tell me how you want her oriented I will turn her around and e-mail you a bigger image if you need it, just PM me and we will sort it out mate.

thanks again to all my visitors for taking the time to wander in and for those of you that make a comment

    Heya Mr.
There's not a single drawing on this page O_O someone needs some post-its. The perfect 5 minuet sketch buddy. heck, get some of them bathtub crayons and draw in there .

Anyways, back on topic - I can't say that I have a big collection of posed fat men in my browser history (because I'm a married woman, and that would be inappropriate) Though I'd say some adventurous searches on the NSFW side of the internet would yield the most success.

In the mean time, you could also search around for overweight cartoon characters. http://livlily.blogspot.ca/ has lots of reference from a tonne of cartoons. might find something interesting in there. Kung Fu Panda has some great stuff.
Sorry I haven't got anything more specific

    Happy sketching ^_^

Hey hey, nice to see your ever wise commentary in my sb again, like what you said about the whole finishing my work thing. Perhaps people will want to hire me after i finish some work haha. I need a partition my brain to have a section for finishing work, i think the problem is that i don't have the patients to render for like 8 hours lol. But I'll try mate, thanks as always. Right enough about myself (i know right?), man you attract some attention in this place. Love how your mixing things, as a person battling against all odds to master perspective and environment painting, i like how you've implemented some perceptive fundamentals in the luv shack and look to more environment painting. Id love to see a massive post with like 4 or 5 different environment pieces (maybe with the rocket man flying through them). Also would love to see some really precise cast drawing (or if you're like me and can't afford a cast, random matte objects around your house). Anyways, just some preference, nothing more. Keep up the fight chap! Later.

You’ve spread your enchanted magical wings once again, and did
more coconutic astronautic marvelous sketches and children book amazements.
The ducks has traveled from South Pacific through the mountains being delivered
directly into underground restaurants. I see that you have captured the happiness and
bright spirit that these animals possess in their natural habitat. They are in a real mood
for caring and love. The anatomy hands and skulls has boosted your confidence and
security within to another, next better state. You keep on waxing the studies like this,
and no tall creepy postman will ever represent any phobia to you anymore.
    Your choir boy drawing fascinated me, just as it fascinated Arnold;
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuyntWaVCdo
The general pack of deliverance that you served on us is very good
and pleasantly surprising. You improved even in your perspective
understanding and I am totally happy about everything. You see, this
last caped guy scares me a bit, cause I have a feeling that he did
some nasty things behind the corner and now he is laughing evilishly.
Sudden wake up of the master in you, that’s what happened, you
have evoke the real true artist which was hiding. But now
the real true skills are showing, and I am delighted, very
good feelings going through me as I observe your creations.

Some nice new stuff here. I would still say one of your biggest concerns right now should be form. Try to imagine everything as if it's built up by 3 dimensional primitives. I think that for this reason the trucks and cars actually look a bit better than your organic stuff, because those things allready have that box like quality to begin with. I think those drawings could benefit from some perspective grids however. Keep rockin'

Love is no stranger to you anymore, actually it never was. Passionate emotions toward the
deepest devotions. As a warm breeze of Christmas spirit touches the brims of your grimy
cellar boiling piped steams, you sit infront of a non radiating world broadcasting magic box,
in an environment full of space bottle beers. An old banshee screams and strips, as you carelessly
and tranquilly sip your beer. The fire cracks in the oven, your Christmas turkey is ready. Steamed
ornamented windows, cracking wooden floor, the holy angel will sing once more. Cleaver hacked
oiled bakery noose, you chew on the first bits of your roasted goose. Santa is waving you from
a starred sky, as he’s being driven by a crowd of possessed insane zombified flies. Happy
bright and beautiful future await you and your loved ones.

I too like crispy aromatic and with pancakes and hoi sin sauce. Not sure the second one will have much flesh and the third one has a dislocated hip. I'm well aware of the distractions of DIY - I've promised one of my sons to make him a guitar case - head desk.

Sorry I just dont know where time goes sometimes

I have just been stupidly busy of late and most of it not based around my artwork! I have tried to be good and have looked at all your stuff but not left comments because I am just a bit shellshocked at the moment.

Here is some of the stuff I have been kicking about of late.

    Firstly some bricklaying in 3d......

This is just me getting therapy and building something brick by brick.

This next bit I need some feedback on as its for a website idea. The plan is to have an interactive gallery to show off my wares in a different way to most of the others I have seen. The first one or the long red one you would click on the picture frame amd get a selection of images to enlarge based on the group ie landscapes or enviro studies, the next would be pencil sketches etc etc.
the second set are an expansion of the idea where you click on the images to get an expanded view or click in the doorway to move on to the next section, there would be a program for you to pull out to quick jump to a specific section as well.
