really like that blue environmenthow's the new school?
Tadas, probably the best thing that ever happened to me. It's very good, keeps me busy and happy ;]
Here's one more from school. Done in one and a half day, but I'll probably work some more on it.

Very tight and professional work man. You should be working as a CA already no?
All the best man
Mario
Marioucci, thanks! Nope, I'm not working at the moment. I did some work on hidden object games before, but that's about it. Three and a half years of studies await.
Rastaray, thank you. I'll try and not disappear for a few months again ;] Glad you like the stuff.
A little self-portrait I did last night

Rly cool tecnicue and anatomy, love your style)
Really great SB, you've got some really solid anatomy and really nice colours in here. If I was going to crit anything it'd be that your skintones often look a bit washed out, but the last couple are much better, so maybe that's not an issue anymore. =) Post more!
Hey razz,
I am loving your characters! You have a great way of handling digital paint as well, all your pieces have a solid sense of lighting and color. The enviro of the moonlit gave me a pang of nostalgia, as it reminded me of the Monkey Island series! Are you using Corel Painter? I ask because your work has a delightfully opaque painterly style, and when I digipaint on photoshop everything looks smooth and smudgey (not a nice aesthetic). All the best!
Cedric
Artezianin, thanks you, greatly appreciated!
Revidescent, I'll try and watch those skintones ;] Thanks for dropping by.
Hey, ceddo! I use Photoshop for all my 2d work. I did use Painter before though and loved the brushes there, so I try and use similar ones in PS. I use a mix of different artist's brushes (Daarken,, Bumskee or Goro, for example), you can probably easily find them on the net. I love those that bring back the pastel brush feel from Painter. But sometimes I may paint the whole thing with one brush but use a different one the next time. Experiment, I guess ;] Thank you for the kind words!
More stuff from school. Some older 2d and a 3d quickie. There's more, but not really worth showing. I need to scan or photograph my traditional stuff now.

Great, thanks for the brush recommendations, and for the post on my sketchbook! The structure behind these newest pieces is really solid. Nice colors on the cathedral painting. Cya round![]()
Jaw dropping stuff sir.
Check out my SKETCHBOOK!
Ceddo, no problem, hope it helped. Thanks again!
JBogart, thanks a lot ;]
Continuing to work on a sketch posted way before. Still very much a work in progress as you can see, so critique and suggestions very much appreciated.

Hi again razz, this looks beautiful. I noticed some tangencies and odd coincidences going on between the guy and the background:
- one of the jacket's 'tails' and the hilt of his sword look at first like they are the same object (umbrella handle).
- curve of large tree branch melds with character's knee. This may be intentional, forgive me if that's the case!
Great stuff otherwise, I look forward to seeing the final product![]()
Thank you, Ceddo. I will work on fixing those things. I want to do more work on it before posting an update on it, but that will happen soon enough, hopefully ;]
Here's a little study

Dude, this sketchbook gets better with ever post!
Awesome stuff!
Just got myself a tablet and struggling to come to grips with it and all of this looking through peoples work on here isn't helping me much, but just need to stick with it I guess, anywho, keep up the fantastic work, it's people like you who inspire me to push myself through this and come out on top!
Chronic
Shadow Stalker, thanks, mate!
Chronic, it's always amazing to know I've inspired someone. Makes me work harder. I know the feeling that you're talking about, most of the people who are trying out a tablet for the first time probably do. But it goes away quickly. Just like with everything, practice makes perfect. I am now much more comfortable with drawing and painting on the computer than traditionally. Scary...
Something I've been working on last week at school and a little WIP speedie. Suggestions on the speedpaint would be good ;] So far I know the colors aren't that great.

Movie study, yay!

Working on a character design for school, here's the start
![]()
Beautiful stuff; I get a nice sense of atmosphere from your paintings.
+ Sketchbook +
nice...really like your sketchbook
how much time did you spend on movie study?
Lost Shock, thank you! I tend to like very atmospheric images ;]
agricolyte, thanks. It took me less than 2h, not sure exactly how much.
More school stuff. The assignment was to create a superhero. Mine doesn't look a lot like that, but oh well...He can turn to smoke and it will be more clear than the sketch here. Any suggestions how to make him more superhero-ish?

Hey there!
I was studying 3d animation some time ago myself, and we all did admire animation workshop's productions " the udnertaker's coming! " :]
Alot of good stuff going on in this skcetchbook, oh oh and youc an say hi to my friend Ana Novakowska from me, she started studying there not long ago :]
cheers!
Icecold, hey! I'll tell her you said hi ;] Yeah, "The Backwater Gospel" is really amazing. The guy who directed that movie is teaching us 3D ;] Thanks for stopping by!
It's really hard to find the time for my own pieces, but I really want to work on some illustration stuff. Here's an update on my Peter Pan piece.
![]()
nice movement in the last sketch, the arms pose looks kinda strange ò_ò especially the one farther away from us, in my opinion they look way too straight to feel natural, but sadly im no master when it comes to anatomy so feel free to disregard this post.
btw did you finish/is there any progress on the sketch of post 83? i'd love to see how you are handling the light in that piece.
Nice illustration buddy, like the lighting effect you have used. A very interesting take on Peter Pan. Think his neck looks a bit odd the anatomy in that area looks a bit off. I think a little bend in his arms would be good too. But that does not take away from the good illustration it is, nice job.
G@m, thanks for the crit, tried fixing what you mentioned. About that piece in post 83, it was just a speedpaint to show my initial idea for what I'm going to do in 3D. Still working on it. So I probably won't be finishing that particular one in paint.
Ja1307, great suggestion about the bend, does look better, in my opinion, as slight as the bend is. This isn't really my take on Peter Pan, but Brom's. You know the artist? Well, he also writes books, and that one is called "Child Thief".
Tiny update on the child thief illustration and something that I'm working on at school these days.

Wonderful work! Especially love the backgrounds that you have done. I really like your colour choices too <:
Hell Yeah I know Brom, the man is a genius. Love his work. I like the dark tone you tapped into with this Peter Pan illustration and the suggestive glint in his eye. Its these two elements that are drawing me in. I like the dark edgy style your developing in your work of late.
