Dude, nice ceramics and room renderings! I'm no good at giving advices, so let me just say: keep it up, you have potential!

And you're making me look bad for not doing so many studies... See? You're awesome.

    May-june update

@Tamaira thanks nice to see you back here, thanks for stopping by. ;-)

I've been spending time at the library, borrowing art books that cost an arm and a leg. first is my interpretation of The bather from valpincon and the second is a t-shirt design.
    Thanks for stopping by.

Hello there, wieviel uhr ist es?
Es ist zeit to draw, yes it's time to draw,
it's always time to draw. I understand that you like
to draw, and you do it all for fun, but I have to admit
that in the process you have improved a lot. So why not
push it to the next stage? It would be a totally awesome idea.
I think you need to work more on figures and on proportions,
maybe gestures, you just try to work a 10 or 20 figures daily,
and the results will shine brighter than ever. I read on your DA
profile that you have an issue with drawing at work, well that
is a really bad thing, and if you are an office worker you will
surely have a lot of time to draw at your desk, I know it from
experience. And if the boss is such a miserable sadistic being,
that he restrict that pleasure for you, then he really deserves
to suffer. Period. His act is something similar to burning a book.
You are talented, and you have good to great ideas, you just
work a bit more on a technical side, and you will achieve greatness.
And after all, the mileage will do its things, years and years of
drawing, will make large experience and drawing will be in your blood.
Your digital paintings look a bit muddy and blurred in some way, so
I would focus on soft and hard edges, and trying to sharpen up
things. Generally you are doing great, and I am glad that I came
here. Hope that we will stay in contact. Take care, and draw everyday.

    @LtPlissken
Thank you for the much needed indirect Kick-in-the-ass. The last few weeks I have gotten a lot of compliments from friends, family and colleagues about my drawing, making me sort of lazy. I knew for myself, a lot of my stuff is "ok", but there are tons of other people who are miles above me, so there's still room for improvement, but I was thinking the last couple of weeks, forget the studies, just draw. But your right, why settle for just good. Thanks again and I will stay in contact.

Hey, Bill. Good face render on the last one! And skin values seem spot on.
Since you're hard on your anatomy studies I have no scruples to point out her hands are too small. Ofcourse I could just be plain evil. One can never tell.

Laughed my ass off when I saw the sesame wars

(I got malware warning once on another PC. I figured it was because of IE and/or high level av protection)

    Cheers!

Champ performance here my friend, you are doing it
surprisingly good. Realizing how to mix in some textures
with skin rendering, however I would like you to go back
a bit to greyscale studies, and try to improve your value
understanding. The last girl looks a bit cut/pasted on
a corn field textured background, that means that you
could go a bit lower opacity with the textures, but
other than that you are an ace. Fighting each and
every day for a better performance, you serve
as an example for the newcommers. I honestly
love your work and the fresh motivational
force that you expose hour after hour.

@Plisken, nice to see you here and your two cents is always welcome. I loved your SB update.

    So, like the title says:

    How: 20 graphite, 20 digital
As fast as possible and large.

Hey, didn't I mention? I'm subscribed to your sb. That's right. Muahahaha!

Hey, cool mission. Mind if I join in? It's always more enjoyable for me if I know someone else is doing the same study.
I don't know how it escaped my notice before, but those acrylic pebbles rock (sorry, bad pun not intended). The different surfaces came out splendidly. There's so much delicious detail in them. The cloth looks a little off, but to be honest, I wouldn't know exactly why.

Well, 7 down 33 to go. But don't rush. Focus on them. Yes, quantity helps. Focused quantity. Proportions are important. Anatomy is important. It takes more effort, but it's wort it, because you won't be condemned by making same mistakes over and over again. I did that and now I have to go back to basics frequently because I wouldn't focus and truly try to understand what I was doing.
I'm most seriously impressed by your progress, thou. And it's only a 3rd page...Wow, dude.

Keep 'em coming! I'll try to catch up >

    Mission update 40 women

@tacijana, (Grin), I see we have the same humor. I've subscribed to your SB too. Thanks for the motivation and the comments and tips. There's no place like this forum to get great critique. This is so valuable. ;-)

I'm getting into this challenge. The graphite drawings are really fun to do (I still have problems with small hands). The digital ones, I've been trying different techniques in artrage.

    Update 40 women

I'm at the half way point. I decided to finish my graphite drawings first and then take my time with the digital ones. Still having problem with proportions, but I'm catching most of them.
@ Tacijana, Your the reason I'm taking my time with the digital one. I saw yours and I thought, mine look real shitty, and they did. I was sketching with my wacom and not painting. The next digital ones will be better. Your an inspiration ;-)

So, my Graphite drawings are done and now I have to concentrate on the digital ones. #30 turned out a little strange, I don't know what happened there.
Here's the next ten and some doodles from work.

Hey Nice studies man, though a few crits I have.

    - Your line quality seems "chicken scratchy", try using fewer lines when drawing form.

    - Some of your figures are still flat, I recommend Micheal Hamptons book or even Kevin Chen Demo's. Form in Space!
    http://www.angelfire.com/art3/kchendemos/

    - Your figures seem really stiff, if you get Micheal Hamptons book, his take of gestures are really handy.

    Keep up the studies man!
    Have a nice one

    Update October

    Hi-Ho,
I haven't been here for a while. I hope everyone is still doing good after all these updates and site management. Looking forward to perusing through some SBs, there must be a lot of new stuff here. So enough of my drivelhere's my meager update for being away so long. I've got some face studies to offer, snal studies I#m doing for a painting, general sketchbook stuff and yes folks my very first oil painting of my hand, which happens to be my first oil painting every.
Thanks for stopping in and taking a look. Button up on your way out it's getting cold out there.

Good to see you back, your sketchbook up and running again.
Your pencils are fresh and new just came out from the bakery,
I like the taste. You have brought new power and motivation with yourself
I can feel it. Sixes and sevens, our art will grow, and we will feel the meaning
of the starving owl. Above I can sense the sweat and wet drips on those female
bodies, very good job on them. Keep this up, the meaning of your work is expanding.

    Studies, studies, studies and concepts

@snake, thanks for stopping by man.
@tacijana, hope to see you posting again soon.
Did a lot of arm studies these past weeks. I want to perfect "the ultimate conan-arm." I've been busy painting and sketching, this time from imagination. I'm getting back into the old dungeons and dragons themes, wizards and such. Thanks for taking a look,

    Wow, dude...

It's intimidating to see just how fast your progress is! Anatomy proportions are steadily and surely settling into proper relations. Front view head sketches are good, while side view needs more study. I allowed myself a draw over, because I have hard time explaining this kind of stuff. relationships/proportions are at right levels, but they are somehow squashed into a vertical alignment. Nose should be positioned further away from the chin, lips and forehead. But in all honesty, all this will come more apparent to you the more you study. I always feel silly to expose such stuff, because we all realize this stuff (in regards to whatever we're studying at the time) sooner or later, we just need to keep practicing. And you're already amazing at that! I love your illustrations. I suggest making the demon in the last sketch even bigger, maybe almost filling up the room. That would make him more menacing (since he seems to be the heart of the image, because my eyes lead straight toward him) and there would be more action in the piece and emphasis on the story.

Bill, you're awesome. And i'm turning into a parrot.

Freshly melted seamless bakery wind, you have witnessed
once more how the true wooden bee sting. You are intimidated
us with your fast performance and progression. You intimidated
Ticijana just as you intimidated me too. Your evolution, hidden
under the non-polluted resolution. Wunder-kind futuristic ambitions
can we see, the epic times when Yoda become a Yoga master and
after that Jedi master, are closing down upon you. Soon you will
reach that mastery and no evil sorceress will bring in any new travesty.
You take care and be good, thank you for the joke, I like it very much.

    Last update this year

@ Snake + Tacijana, thanks for stopping by. Let me get this right? I am intimidating you guys? Thank you for the compliment, but you two are so much better then me.

Here's my latest efforts. The first one is Acrylic paints on canvas, then a sketch of a painting I'm working on (you guessed it, those aren't music instruments, they're weapons of mass destruction), and finally some thumbnails and faces. Not much, I've been painting more then drawing. I have started a new project though, 1000 figure drawings, something for in between painting, I've got 24 so far so this will take a while.

She is saying that she is an ape? Because her mouth is a bit
so protruded? Even if that’s the case and real scenario, she
shouldn’t complain on anything, cause she never felt the true
power of the hairy majestic mad ape. Ripping her intimately
apart. You were right with the arrows pointing down on the female
breasts, cause you tend to put too high those beautiful pumped pillows
on their chests. However, once I saw a girl in our local circus, who had her
breasts directly growing out from her neck. And she had only one leg.
A weird experience it was after three gallons of booze. I was examining
more conan-s muscled arm above. It is good, and you are understanding
muscles more. Do you know that Conan-s arm was his first girlfriend, and
    after he met that girl in the cage. She said;
it’s amazing how you are growing so fast,
as she was looking stoned at his waist area.
Keep on smashing the water out of those melons.
Fantastic work ethic and results you are bringing
to the market at any point.

Hey, Bill. I can render the shit out of everything, but trust me on this...That's not what makes art great. It's just icing on the cake. Story and structure are everything. I got it all backwards, of course. So no, I'm not better. I'm just on the other side of the rainbow. I still have a long way to go.

Well, keep it up is all I can say this time around. Also, faces look a lot better! Hope to see more from you soon!

    two updates in one month

Here are updates on two paintings I'm working on and I did some watercolor sketching the last couple of days (inspired by Mr. Gurney). The paintings need a load of work, some geometry needs correcting on the flute. I got to number 200 on my mission to do 1000 gesture drawings. Thanks for taking a look.

    Febuary update in March.

Heres a few things I did last month. I bought a watercolor set and started experimenting with them and a sketch of my favorite mutant and finally a finished oil painting.
    Thanks for looking in.
