Wow some impressive drawings here, I totally adore some of your fineliner/marker works they share quite a resemblance with the works of Aubrey Beardsley (he's among my favourites and major influences). Keep posting and happy drawing, I ll keep checking in on it - put a followy on your SB.
Have a look at my SketchbookThanks!

    il y a du soleil!

@greyskill- thanks man! XD i spent days on it (partially because i was being distracted by fb and food : P) the photo itself had pretty clear lightings so it made it easier. Woot! yes! XD second page! merci!

@jamtob2- thank you very much! : ) I googled the guy and i can't believe i didnt know about him before : O he is amazing (but died at a young age?) thanks for coming by!

It has been extremely cold and dull the past few days
so I was thrilled when the sun came out this afternoon

had my second quick sketch class today
the teacher brought us to the campus of taipei uni of arts
    where we sketched trees
he told us "stop telling yourself that its a tree, just draw along with it, humble yourself and let nature teach you what it is."
ha XD he is one interesting old man, I look forward to the next classes

so here are my "humble" sketches of trees!
some I like, some I panicked on
and finally WIP2 for teenchallenge - nomads

You are very welcome, and yes Beardsley didn't enjoy a long life but died at 25 or so, I just got a Art Nouveau book from the local library (one thing I frequently do while travelling and stay in a place for a bit is become a library member. Anyway.) and it's got some of his work depict, incredible talent. Yet he was very productive and illustrated a lot e.g. for Wilde's Salome and other publications and plays of the time.

I really like this last painting, apples and something burnt! The color palette is really nice!

Keep working, people can get where they want, if they are willing to just take a step at a time.

I'm starting to really believe that it is truly just that simple..

    Apples and something burnt 1

    here goes : P first 2 paragraphs
(thanks to my awesome group members: enoch, kevin, authur, linda, kimberly and beverly!)

    100...99...98...

It was the festival of the gods, a day where they would bless us with their
presence, during days like these the whole city would be coated in a thin
golden layer of glory and gratitude. I looked over the roofs of marble
buildings, tented markets and admired the temple that stood nobly across
    the square.

    90...89…88...

People rushed up and down, preparing food and trying to yell over the
excitement. Adaya, the head of the kitchen came up to me. “If they keep
this pace, we will never be ready for the gods!!” she said, but with a huge
grin. No one can conceal their jubilation, not during the festival.

Nice stuff! The Hunted is really good! What kind of paintings are these? I thought watercolor originally because I can see the sketch underneath, but then I was not sure because of how vibrant the colors are. Are they digital?

But anyway, the Hunted is a good representation of your technique and style, I like it a lot.

Very very nice work! Like everyone has already pointed out, you're a natural with pencils. Have you tried to do your pencil sketches in digital? Do you have a tablet? I was very hesitant when I took the step from pencils to digital, but as it turned out it wasn't that much of a leap. I still draw a lot with pencils though.

Maybe you've seen this, but i think there's something slightly off with the hand in you're last sketch, the WIP. Kinda like her grip is a bit light. Seems like that hand should be more forceful, so you can see the weight of the spear/stick in her hand.

    Amazing faces, amazing expressions!

hey, you've got really nice stuff here. It's got a lot of panache. I think you have a pretty good chance of getting a really good art school. Which ones are you looking at?

It's a little hard to give you a critique, because your work is shaping up nicely... Some of your noses are drifting up to one side. It's good to see you working with a bit of landscape. I'd like to see you bring that into photoshop ( or whatever you use) and lay down some lights and darks to practice with composition.

    Keep up the good work!

samsonite: yes, i do have a tablet but still not that comfortable with sketching with it : P I shall work more on that! thanks! and yes XD her hand does look weird, I shall fix it when I have time : ).

MoKhi: hi! thanks!, so far my teacher suggested RISD..then I looked at the school homepage and *gulp* :/ so hard to get in...(and no scholarship for international students?) XDD so..now i dont know, thanks for the advice : D, I will work harder on landscapes!!!!

yesss, this weekend is busy as heck, spent the whole day in concept art class, our goal was to design a train : P, the teacher showed us shaun tan's animation!!! (I love him , shaun tan that is.)

yess, and there was an earthquake D: freaked me out...
thats the second earthquake I experience in that classroom = =
okay, back to the topic : P
here's the thing for teenchallenge : ( didnt have time to change the hand

Absolutely great work here, you have a really nice illustrative style and really like your pencil and pen sketches.

Know how you feel in maths and subjects other than art, I too tend to draw quite alot on all my maths notes during class.

Great work so far, but i think you could maybe use a bit more variation in the colours in your digital work.

    Awesome job, keep it up!

I liked your entry for Teen Challenge this week! Your drawing skills are pretty good, but I feel that your painting skills are somewhat weaker. I think if you tried maybe painting on top of your pencil lines instead of only underneath them, or tried painting only without any pencils, you would get a more finished look to your paintings. I think some pencil lines showing through can look good, but not all of them.

Keep it up, and I hope you enter in more future Teen Challenges!
