solid life drawing in here. I really like the fantasy creatures like the first image in 64, 37, and post 9. They really show off your creativity, (and I'm a sucker for fantasy creatures)

The last painting looks pretty good, I really like the lighting there!
In the hand study I notice that maybe you could pay more attention to form. Like the fingers are a little like boxes. That way you can render them more effectively.

    Keep on posting

awh nice paintanz. Although it looks a little too 'airbrushy soft' , and and bit too immaculate. perhaps introduce some harder edges to give the paintanz sum pop n fizzzlin. also it helps the form alot more.

u have a sound grasp of colour too!

I love your live study's. So vivid!
But your anatomy seems off in some parts. (post nr.61, the King character)
I found this blog some time ago. It helped me in some cases. Maybe it can help you too.

woha, so many postings here in sketchbook, I'm really not used to this! But I'm happy

Rhubix: thank you very much for visiting my sketchbook again! I'm glad you like the fantasy creatures and I'm sure, some more will follow. It's good to read the word creativity, I feel always like I have none D=

PLeon: thanks for showing me your favourite! That's really interesting. It's a picture of a series I'm doing for the university and so the style is a bit different from my other work. I'm glad to see that there's someone who like it

AvisNocturna: Yeah, I go on posting This sketchbook is here to kick my ass. And you are totally right, I need to work at hands. I've always problems with them. Thanks for the tips!

SSquir33: thanks for your critique! I will try to work on that. I often have the problem that I'm painting to messy and try to get the brushstrokes away with some smoother brushes. I need to find a way to make that better

kuumehike: Thanks for the link! I will look at it. And I'm not happy with the anatomy in that picture too. I would have changed the whole pose to make it easier for me, but it was a commision and I was not allowed to do in an other way. But it's just a reason more to study anatomy =)

    so, time for an update:

I'm really liking the lines for your pencil studies but the colours on your paintings are coming off a bit flat. I don't think it has anything to do with your blending, which looks good.

Caspia: Thank you for your comment. I know that I have some problems to develop depth with my colours and my technique. But i don't find solution right now. I hope, more practice will help. But I have to learn some things about blending too.

    Nerferinn: thank you very much!

I totally sucked today (the drawings in the last post are from yesterday night) and now I forced myself to do at least a still life painting. It's not finished and looks crappy but I'm to tired now to go on.

I'm really liking your figure studies- especially the hands, that's something I struggle with all the time. There's a lot of movement and musculature in your sketches that really shows direction and gesture that I think gets lost in a lot of your more finished work- they seem a little more stiff- maybe because of bad reference or you're over analyzing them? Your sketches are so confident and you obviously have a great imagination and talent! I'm excited to see what you're going to do next!

Pleon: I often have the problem, that I just don't have an idea what I want paint if I wanna do an environment! creativity fails. Makes it difficult do more without doing always the same D=
Thank you very much for your comment!

vivawaite: you're totally right. I have the problem to get some knowledge out of the sketches into the finished works. The difference between linework and painting is giving me some hard times ^^; I hope I will get the confidence of the sketches in the paintings soon!
And thank you very much for your nice words!

    Very nice figure studies
Your digital art can get a lot better. I think the problem is edges and lightsource. You should pay more attention to what your lightsource is and where the Eigenschatten and Schlagschatten lie.
    Here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=51913
I guess you know this already but maybe you can read it again.
I also made a quick overpaint of your painting regarding character's left hand, maybe it can give you an idea how to go on.
You can make the shadows a lot stronger and edges sharper in many places.

Well. Something like an update. I feel like I can not paint at all the last days and everything is just crap :/ I always try to think about critique and work on problems, but a lack of motivation is coming again. I feel like I'm standing before a very big wall and I don't know where I should start breaking that thing down.
I just painted today because I didn't want to sit in a corner and cry D=

You seem to have a really good mix of life, imagination, and reference in your sketchbook. From what I'm hearing that's the best way to get better. I admire the work output.

Love the skull lady illustration and that last landscape speedpainting!
