Nice stuff man, you have a great eye for creature design, especially your alien heads are awesome.

One crit would be to really focus on heads for like a week or something. Self portraits, loomis whatever, focus on construction. You have quite a good ability to draw bodies, but the heads lack a little. (oh god I know how hard heads are, I struggle like hell to still try to get them right today).

But yeah other than that man you know what your doing just keep working!

    Currently looking for work!

hey, war! how's the 'shitty' job?

you hardly seem to draw less, altough stuff might be less finished.
as for the digital, you might want to do a bit more construction. the same might be true for the pencils, but your lines are just so pr'tty it doesnt matter :p
    Warning, I draw babiez

There's just so much here, I'm having trouble keeping up! The stuff you've been posting is -great-, though. Your pencils and anatomy sketches keep improving. Also, it's really cool to see you doing studies of animal anatomy as well. Do you have any recommendations for particular resources on that?

Simply because it'd take me a year to comment on all of the great stuff you've put up since I last posted, I'll just focus on the fungus man (?) concept from post #283, because I absolutely love it XD The design itself is really interesting--the colors you chose are working very well (I'm a big fan of the red-green complimentary pair in particular) and the textures you rendered on that guy are looking awesome. I'd say by way of critique that it might help to take another look at the secondary light source you have on the right side of the character (the one that's reflected on the right side of his bicep and thigh). It looks great there, and you do a good job keeping that consistent on the rest of his skin, but make sure you keep it consistent throughout the whole design. It could probably be played up a bit more on the grass/fur on his shoulder and on the side of his head.

Thanks for the crit! I agree, my lighting and values is a constant battle =S I'll try and work harder!!

Illustration done for IOW. Childrens fairy tale illustration with a dark twist.

It almost killed me to get this done in time for the deadline but was an experience nether the less. I kinda hate how it ended up, might be down to the fact i rushed it, or that ive lost alot of inspiration and hope.

Regardless, its done...... kind of 0_o

crashpoint Thanks man, i'm glad you think so, i'll do my best to continue

Its been a prity starnge week or so. I was basically kicked out of my parents and made homeless so ive been couch hoppin till i sorted something out. So as you can imagine art has prity much taken a backseat. In fact, it's prity tough to imagine this ever working out, and kinda puts into context how risky and lame this life style really is.

Hey man i know how annoying it is to work full time somewere and try to become a better artist in your spare time, i went thro same thing, what i did was cut away everything that was not absolotley nesseacry, which ment 0 social life and 4-5 hour sleep per night, it was very hard and tiresome but it paid off in the end but its not a method i would recomend ,but i just wanted to share how i approched it, keep at it man!

Aaaaaaaaaaah, you're leaving me in the dust, man! Everything about your stuff is improving--your values are spot on, your colors are getting tons better, your anatomy is looking great and those textures! I'm still blown away by your environment in post #256 (I think it was 256). How are you going about incorporating these textures into your environments? Are they from photo textures or are they from brushes? Either way, they're rocking my face off and I wanna see more! The full time non-art job thing might feel like a bit of a set back, but at the rate you're improving, I don't think you have anything to worry about

snatti Your work is a huge inspiration to me man, and i envy you alot. I really appreciate your support and for stopping by man, i'll try to follow your example

kevin Thanks man, i should try and do more ;D

meps Thanks alot dude, i still have a long way to go, but i'm glad you can see improvements. The environment was just me messing with brushes mainly. I just use a mix from all sorts of artists. If you get 'ImagineFx' the discs which come with it usually have a ton of brushes from different artist on it. Bumskee has some prity cool ones too. Thanks again for the support and for stopping by man, it means alot

That thing is absolutely terrifying. Solid design, great colors, and that rim-lighting is awesome! It really conveys a good sense of (horrifying) mood. My main critique would be that some of the legs (particularly the one to the far right and the one in the middle) don't seem 100% connected to the ground. Defining the area where the feet meet the ground just a little bit more clearly might help.
