    *Internal Struggle Self Portraits

Posted this in the Guest SP thread. I wanted to do something with alittle more meaning and depth to it. Did this to try and express some internal frustration I've been having with my dating and social life. The struggle is really only inside.

really nice drawings! one comment (I won't call it a crit, because it might be intentional); the reflected head looks larger than the one closest to the viewer. Real-world pespective would be the reverse.

    Thanks for the comments, guys.

insekt: just some micron pens and a brush tip marker, and Photoshop tone.

bwkeough: Heh, it wasn't intentional, just an oversight and mistake. I went ahead and corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Scubasteve: Yeah, the eyes are supposed to be like that, kind of the subtle point of the image. I've been mildly depressed lately, and had issues with relationships and such, this was made as an outlet. I was kind of trying to convey that I'm pretty blind sometimes when it comes to looking for appreciation and love, when I should really be looking inside. I just have the habbit of playing martyr and blamming others for my unhappiness. Closing my eyes to what's inside.

Now I feel like a cheesey brooding artist...

Hey, sorry about all that relationship jazz, wish I had some critique for that, but you'll have to see a real profession to figure out da women....Come to think of it, there aren't any pros in that department! Mirror Doesn't Lie

Ended up looking too much like a characature, was trying to convey how I feel about the way I look on bad days.

these are great . i am really enjoying the psylogical element your are introducing in the portraits. pain and frustration can be some of the most inspiring of all emotions to draw from. good luck with your inner battle, remember its all about how you play the game.

    Thumbs up

Kudos for using your emotions to produce some great art. I especially like the overall picture on Haunted by the Blind. Great illustration all around on that one.

I really like the "haunted by the blind" peice, the colors are great and the composition is nice. I can relate to that last one, these are very good.

    Noone Sees Me

Noone sees the real me. No matter how hard I try to be real and sincere, people push me away, a fake plastic shell.

kan, I really like your drawing style. You really show procession in your line weight and strokes. Your use of color comes off as appearing very faint, but makes a big impact on the overall drawings.
