Do I belong here?

Hello, everyone.
I just registered to this site to try a different venue to promote my artwork. But as I look around it seems like most artists are doing game design, motion graphics, animation, painting, illustration, etc., which is a bit different from the medium I work with. I'm a photomanipulator (which I'm sure you know what means) so I do digital photo art, creating an artwork from many different photographic elements and techniques in Photoshop.

Below I've posted two examples from my gallery.

So are there just no photomanipulators on the site or am I just not quite in the right place?

It was a joke, many people here use photo manipulation for their work. Not in precisely the same way you do but sort of the same process of collage and manipulation if you look around you will see it, even though it is geared towards environments. THe mattes I did awhile back fall into that category where I was given a photoplate and asked to alter it or extend the image to fit a different format.

Yes, I do know that is common in matte 'paintings'. However, I seem a little out of place since I am not into game art or character designs and things like that at all. But I guess I'll look around a bit more and check out people's work. Perhaps I'll find some minority artists like myself.

There are many type of artists here even if the place was originally geared towards concept art - it's much more than that.

Your stuff looks really good, and while a lot of the stuff on CA is geared toward production work it's still a lot of basic painting and illustration stuff which can only help your photo manipulation stuff get better, so I would say yes, you are in the right place, or at least a good place

Aww, thanks! Well, it looks to be a great site, judging by the different forums and topics so I'll explore it as I go along.
